University of Chicago Scavenger Hunt 2008

Okay, so I am participating in the world's largest scavenger hunt right now and I need help with some items.

The items I need help with are:
"A hematogen bar." (7 points)
"Actually if you're keeping a Jaguar (Atari Jaguar), CD-i or 3DO, we'd like to see them too. (9 points per console, 6 bonus points for that nightmare fuel they dared call a zelda game.)"
"We’ve searched long and hard for a blade worthy of the title Ex-scav-iber, a scav crest emblazioned upon its hilt. Sadly it doesn’t seem to be in existence. I guess it’s up to you elves to forge a sword yourself. (65 points)"
I know how to get the hematogen bar but the other two are really vexing me.

I'm taking that to mean fake rather than forge. Although I did delegate the forging in the conventional sense to someone else.

I just finished building a 1 foot X 1 foot X 1 foot weighted companion cube.

And we're done. Unfortunately we lost to our rivals again, mad props to them though. They managed to get a double-belled euphonium, two deloreans to our one and a functioning zeusaphone compared to our mere tesla coil. I did black out my page, though. We forged a sword out of a lawnmower blade, which was awesome, and we also had lots of fun. I was distraught to see that the TBA item on my page was to euthanize the weighted companion cube in record time. Fortunately someone else did it or I wouldn't have done it and gotten the 10 points.

Wow, how long was this scavenger hunt going on for? And did you go on a roadtrip?

The hunt does have a roadtrip component to it, each team assigns four members to do it. It went to Kansas from Chicago this year. There was also Air Scav for the first time this year, where they sent one ScavWarrior to Las Vegas to do a huge list of items on their own.

The hunt lasted from the first seconds of may 8th until noon on may 11th. Then judgement starts, which takes approximately 4 hours.

I strongly urge anyone to read the list, because it's frankly hilarious.
