I wish I could smoke today...but my new job begins tomorrow FINALLY and I don't want to risk it.

P.S. random drug testing is bullshit, at least for weed anyway. If you like smoking once in a while, and don't show up to work visibly high, what difference is it going to make whether it still stays in your system a few days afterwards or not?

^ No difference whatsoever. Weed should be at least as tolerated as alcohol. I don't think drug testing for jobs is that common in Canada to be honest.

So luckily 420 is on Sunday this year and having moved downtown this week, I'm gonna walk 4 blocks to the Vancouver Art Gallery for the annual 420 smoke-out. It be crazy, even the radio stations show up.

Well, happy 420!

It has nothing to do with Hitler or Columbine so far as I'm concerned. It could be December 20th for all I care.

I wouldn't compare a cigar to any kind of drugs. You don't inhale, so it's much closer to drinking a cup of fine tea or eating a tasty dish. I shouldn't even compare it to a cup of special coffee since the caffeine does have an impact on your mind

I don't classify tobacco as a drug.
As far as coffee is concerned - doesn't do anything for me, I just like the taste. I can drink a mug of black coffee and go straight to sleep. Same goes for rockstar, full throttle, etc. Red Bull, on the other hand, does give me wings.

Default never cared to

I dont drink, smoke, or do any drugs...my vices of choice are sex and caffine.

I knew to many of my friends growing up that smoked and saw how messed up their life got cause of it. Out of my group of friends growing up I am the only one who finished highschool and dosnt live with my parents still(I am 25). As for cigs both my grandfathers died from lung cancer after smoking a few packs a day, so after growing up seeing them in and out of the hospital I never saw the appel.

That being said I dont care how people live their lives just dont drink and drive or do anything to put someone else in danger.

If you drink dont drive and if you tap it wrap it.

I'm sorry, but I disagree. I'm not a tobacco smoker so when I do smoke a cigarette once in a while for some reason, I get a total headrush for a few minutes. Any chemical that has such a profound effect when you use it is classified a drug so far as I'm concerned.

Agreed.

Nicotine is much more harmful and addictive than weed.

Well, I was around it a lot in Germany while I was there...we lived in a small town just outside of base, and kids would always be smoking it at the skate park, never did it there. Came back to the states, was around it a lot also since Great Falls, Montana was a big "stop" for drugs coming from the border, actually got pretty bad there. Was around it, drove a car while people were smoking it, but never tried it.

Never did, due to my dad was military, and partially because my dad was a cop. Though loads of kids on base were druggies, almost because there was nothing else to do there. I would always hang downtown when I got my car untill early in the morning, and you better believe they had the dogs out and random checks after midnight. Even got stooped into driving someone to get some and got it back on base.

Always had that temptation to do it, lots of friends did...but my teenage years went and past.

Real potheads would tell you the same thing about weed, that they barely notice an effect when they smoke it since they've done it so much.

It's the exact same with nicotine. If you read my previous post, for people who don't usually smoke cigarettes, they can have a pretty noticeable high for a few minutes.

And the only reason pot is illegal whereas cigarettes are legal are senseless legislation and evil tobacco companies. How can weed, something that grows out of the ground and goes to users without much preparation, be more dangerous than a cigarette containing man-made chemicals like rat poison, arsenic and lead? Hmm? Yeah, it defies common logic.

Your argument is perfectly valid - cigarettes are death-sticks, but I really hate the 'it grows out of the ground so it's probably ok' mentality. There are tons of poisonous substances that grow out of the ground Still, better than pills and powders.
