Now that they say there is a way to live forever... but would you want to?

Are you still getting physically older though? Can you be shot 10 times, but not die?

Agreed.

I would like to live forever, if I wouldn't age (otherwise I'd be a prune in no time, relatively speaking). I'm not sure about being invulnerable, though.

What like Tupac?

Many religions believe that you die then come back again in some form or another, that'd be cool. Die a hobo and come back a model.

Wait, live forever and grow old or live forever in my late 20s?

Big difference.`

It'd still be unnatural though. You'd have to see everybody you've ever known grow old and die through the same cycle, while you stay the same forever. And then when they're all gone, your next friends will die out, and your friends after that, and your friends after that...

...you'd get real lonely real quick.

Na, everyone I knew would grow old while I wouldn't. I don't find that particularly appealing.

We already see people grow old and die - it's a part of life. If one lived forever one would see much more death, but also see much more joy and beauty. I think about how much progress humanity has made in the last few hundred years. We went from moving at the speed of a walking horse to traveling to the moon. Just within my short life we have seen the silicone revolution. I can't even imagine what the next 20 years have for us, let alone the next 200 or 2000 years; but I sure want to find out.

If you did live forever, surely you'd evolve (over a period of a million years maybe).

I'm not sure I like the idea of anyone living forever. I can understand the curiosity aspect but there's undoubtedly some people out there that would use such longevity for the wrong purposes. Yes, you can say that about lots of things (guns, knives, war, etc) - but this opens up a whole heap of new areas that could be exploited. After all, there's a reason you grow old and die.
