Need help in perfecting some shots....

When the car is relatively close to you, the clarity is sharp on one part of the car, but not the other. Some examples...

Thing that bugs me is that sometimes my shots come perfectly without blur, so i dont know what I am doing wrong...images/smilies/sad.gif

Semi off topic question, what is shutter priority? I have the Tv Setting on my mom's canon G6 which i use often and i was wondering if its better to use when you have limited time to snap a shot.

I get that turning focal plane thiny a lot 2, but it seems I lack intelligence to figure that tip out...
