We do get the box shaped one here in Europe - it's sold as Daihatsu Materia. I quite liked it, actually...

The Scion tC uses the chassis of the Avensis which is sold in the European market, and the Camry's 2.4 L 2AZ-FE I4 engine. Its low price (base MSRP of US$17,000 for the 2008 model) is a major feature, as well as the pure pricing marketing style that Toyota has adopted.

That should work OK - Avensis is an OK motor and the bigger engine will help it to cruise more effortlessly. Can then take the auto box better too I should think. It does look a nice body all right.

the materia is also the gen2 bB in japan. the xB here is the corolla rumion in japan and maybe europe if toyota brought it over there..

the tC is the avensis chassis and the 4WD version is how we got the FWD tC to conform to formula drift rules..
