Default A Problem!

I have a Canon PowerShot S2 and whenever i put new batteries in it constantly tells me that i need to change them or only works for a few photos. images/smilies/sad.gif I have no idea what causes this. The brand of rechargeable battery i use is that same as i've always used.

Do you think this is something that can be repaired, or am i destined for another camera? images/smilies/mellow.gif

No batteries even seem to work in it. It MAY be sucking them dry, or it may be a software issue. Part of me was hoping this may be easily resolved through good fortune and the knowledge of photography enthusiasts! We'll see.. images/smilies/sad.gif

Check the contacts, you may well find they are corroded/covered in battery acid/gunk, bent/damaged etc. If they don't connect properly, the correct voltage won't come across and that is how low battery is sensed (they drop in voltage a little bit before going completely flat)
