Default American Le Mans: Portland Grand Prix RACE update

Well here are some that I have sorted through so far. more to come later

If the images look a little soft or out of focus, it's because iPhoto seems to apply a softening filter to all the images which is a bit annoying

Love the Aston & 'vette shots - the lighting from the low sun sets the mood.

Can't believe how close they let people get to the cars.

ugh.. it's annoying knowing how close we were to each other without knowing it images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I remember seeing someone with a D100 too.

and yeah fbc, ALMS grants pretty amazing access to their paddock area. And this year at Portland was the first time they let people onto the grid before the race. Pretty cool.

We really do need to have a NW meet, perhaps at the next major PIR race or something.

yeah.. there's quite a few PNWer's just on this photography forum alone

It's definitely weird to look at all the ALMS photos posted in the various photo forums I frequent and know that they were one of the guys I saw shooting at the chicane while I was shooting from the stands just behind the fence.

SUPERB pictures!!! how were you able to capture those cars when there was almost no lighting? you seemed to have captured them at high detail too.

Btw, the girl from the first pic got an amazing body.. i'd do her hehe

another another thing, the DBR9 looks so much like a snake to me now... a serpent.

Well I wouldn't say there was no light. The race was from 6:00 to 8:45 so the sun was beggining to go down. Most most of the places the pictures were taken from were where the sun behind me shining directly at the cars so it lit them up great. The other side of the car however would be in almost complete shadow

Using a D100 then running the photos through iPhoto? Is that legal? j/k

All of the panning shots are sweet... you can't really appreciate how good they are until you try to do it yourself. I've tried, and failed.

All very nice shots.
