Default Carisma spur of the moment photoshoot

I was driving along in my town when i noticed that the overpass with the mainroad on it is quite low as i was passing under it, so i pulled over, ducked under it, pulled out my gear and the following shots were produced. I didn't have a tripod, so i could only do 1 strobe and bounce it off the low concrete ceiling, but i like how these turned out.

Seemed very effective too...I like it. The shadows are not too harsh, so it gradually fades to black.

Nicely executed - it's always the small observations in every day life that bring good opportunities, isn't it?

No, the local chavs have delusions that they're living in NY and have divided the residential area into Queens and Bronx... images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Thanks for the kind words, I wish i had brought my tripod with me, though, would be able to fire the flash twice and get better illumination.

Great pics! I'd love to see what you would be able to do with a cooler car than your Carisma (no offence, but at the end of the day, it's just a Carisma). That should be totally rockin!

Nice! Photo 4 is my fav. Crank up the contrast to hide the rest of the car and that would look really menacing. images/smilies/smile.gif

Or fit some Xenon lights, and have them on. Same effect, menacing.

^ Yeah. I would suggest that 4 should be your new avatar, but I doubt you love your first baby more than the child...

Did you use a SB-800 for that shot?

Nah, I used the Sigma EF-530 DG Super. Basically the same, just a bit cheaper. I still have to figure out how to use it wirelessly, though. I tried it with this shoot, but it kept firing out of sync and not illuminating the scene.

I think he means you love the overall Mitsubishi line rather than one vehicle.

I think.

I thought he was talking to Adu... It needs to be clarified.

Also, while i was on this week long roadtrip, i came up with a quick solution for what should be quite efficient lighting.

Get one very sturdy poster, screw on some light plastic drawer handles on each end, and then have someone stretch it out and hold it various angles, while you point the flash at it. Should prove to be a simple poor man's soft box.

maybe...

You've done good with that flash. I really like the soft light you got on the car so i thought you might have used a couple of sb-800's remotely with some fancy diffusers or something.

Great work. images/smilies/cool.gif
