Rep Power: 19 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well, MF on the D40 ain't all that bad. For a studio camera, a D40x would probably be fine for nearly any task. One thing I'd like in that role would be RAW+fine jpeg, then you could use the file directly from the camera for smaller prints, or develop the NEF for bigger prints. AF is practical, but not essential for all tasks.

| I hear Nikon is going to have a D700 mid-range camera coming out at the end of this year, and since it's going to be full-frame, I might think about upgrading my D40x. There's really nothing wrong with the D40x except it doesn't have a DOF button, which I do actually use, and a slower shutter speed of 1/4000fps, which I need something faster because my lenses are not that fast and I do take photos in a darker environment. I just hope the D700 is going to be under $3000......

Car: '98 Ford Escort 1.6 Rep Power: 13 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The D700 leaked info sounds interesting and i would love a camera with the D3 sensor for less price, but it's still going to cost too much for a hobbyist like me. Too bad cause the D3 sensor is just insanely good at high ISO. I'll wait and see waht the D90 will be.

Rep Power: 19 ![]() ![]() ![]() | The only thing I don't like with the 300D is the buffer which is really quite horrible. Other than that, it does have a very good grip. A lot better than the lump of a grip you get on the 350D/400D. ![]()

Car: '98 Ford Escort 1.6 Rep Power: 13 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | So ive heard, unfortunately it wasnt released yet when i bought my Sigma 18-50mm which apparently isnt as good. I would have to sell the Sigma first before i would buy the Tamron, as having 2 lenses in that range makes no sense.
