Time to upload my pics. I didn't shot much on sunday, a little bit more on monday. Also didn't do any fancy photoshop trickery, because of my natural laziness, so consider this as documentary report images/smilies/smile.gif

D-Fence and Ford Prefect hiding there behind other's backs.
http://www.saunalahti.fi/~mxm7/ringphotos/20_group_banner.JPG

Taking pics of that bikes race. Before we find there's a way to the roof that is images/smilies/smile.gif
http://www.saunalahti.fi/~mxm7/ringphotos/20_window.JPG

And that's what those bikes looked like.

Tight race images/smilies/smile.gif

Other stuff happening on the Ring too...

Not a great photo, but succesfull panning, so I show it images/smilies/smile.gif

Same as above

Next day I went back images/smilies/smile.gif
http://www.saunalahti.fi/~mxm7/ringphotos/21_ring_sign.JPG

All the roads around the Ring are AWESOME too. This has limit 70km/h I think, with pretty steep downhill.. Loved it. Man, they would put 40km/h here on something like that images/smilies/smile.gif
http://www.saunalahti.fi/~mxm7/ringphotos/21_roads.JPG

And what do I see on the parking lot images/smilies/drool.gif

I think it's a VW Golf Mk. I cabriolet with a selfmade detachable hardtop, very weird indeed...

The plane is definitely an A-10 Thunderbolt (or Warthog or Silent Killer).

Very nice pics, I wish I could have been there but I don't have money atm... images/smilies/cry.gif

nice pics mxm! how was the rest of your trip??

@alok:
did you end up going to the ring on the weekend? I was there on sunday with a bunch of other minis after our meet in Düsseldorf. The weather turned out to be quite nice in the afternoon, not as hot as last weekend (thank god), but completely dry. Today it wasn´t so nice, and I left quite early after doing a lap in the rain...

It went great images/smilies/smile.gif Lots of pics from the rest too, but it takes too damn much time to go through them... Most of them are from museums anyway, and you somehow overestimate the value of the photo at the time you take it. So I have few hundreds of Merc's, Audi's and everything there was in Sinsheim images/smilies/smile.gif Posting everything will just be boring.

But I'll try to do somekind of report with selected photos soon.

Silly Germans, stealing our planes. images/smilies/ohmy.gif Actually, we have a base there, so it may have been our's...

And that's a REALLY awesome plane. Sounds crazy and it's essentially a flying gattling gun. images/smilies/lol.gif Literally most of the plane is just gun.

It's being replaced by a JSF variation though as the A-10 is subsonic and kinda old. The JSF however is supersonic and is more versatile.

I think they still haven't finalized which plane is going to replace it, the A-10 itself is going to stay in service till 2028 anyway. If they do replace it with the JSF, I think it's gonna be a mistake just like when they originally tried to replace it with the F-16. A-10 is far more survivable in battles, bigger payload and for some CAS missions, it may be beneficial for the A-10's slower speed. If they do replace the A-10, I think they need to look at other planes (may be a new design), the JSF simply isn't capable of handling some of A-10's missions.

*edit* sorry, didn't want to derail this thread from the original topic

That is incredibly cool guys, can't even imagine how much fun you had until I start my own similar journey up and down the eastern coast here stopping at all racing tracks along the way images/smilies/tongue.gif www.freewebs.com/ftproadtrip

Some really great shots there and meeting Sabine? WOW Luck or what!
