Hey,
Just got my first cover shot in a magazine. Very excited! While the publication, Ski Racing, is small by normal standards, it's the leading publication for ski racing in the US so I'm pretty stoked! ![]() Inside the article ![]() Only the bottom photo is my photo here

Hey everyone, thanks a lot for the congratulations! It's so exciting to see hard work (both in photography and slave labor to pay for my lenses) paying off!
if you want to see more images from this event, just check out this thread: http://forums.finalgear.com/photography/ncaa-nationals-in-skiing-17719/ Watto: Yup, I'm credited- both just inside for the cover photo and also on pages inside. Essentialatom: I'm taking your question is how long I've worked for this? Um, quite a while I've just gradually gotten to know editors and ski photographers and I was at the right place at the right time.

Yes, I'm paid, but financially it isn't worth it- compared to the amount you have to spend on equipment to be able to get a shot like that to the amount paid it doesn't make sense. You can actually make a lot more money shooting little kids (J5's or 6's) at races and selling photos to parents.
But ego wise, it's totally worth it
