Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I just bought a FujiFilm S700 camera over labor day and it looks like the max time that the shutter will stay open for in the settings is 4 seconds. Is there any way to make that long other than get a new camera? |

| Wants Rick Astley's Babies | probably no. Entry level cams only last half a year until the new model, so FW upgades or hacks are a no-go. Chances are it would develop too much noise doing longer exposure anyway...

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Thats what I was afraid of. Do you know of any cheaper cameras that would allow a longer exposure time? I'm just getting back into photography and since I'm in college I don't have a lot of money to spare. |

There would probably be a lot of noise with a long exposure in such a small sensor. If you really want to use longer exposures, I'd suggest returning the camera and looking for a second-hand Nikon D40 or Canon Rebel 300D with the standard 17/18-55 kit lens. |

| FinalGear Forza 2 Time Attack Winner | My Fujifilm F30 has shutter speeds up to 30 sec. You just have to use the night photography program and enable slow shutter speeds from the menu. |

Car: Nissan 200SX S13 / Lexus IS200 Rep Power: 19 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My Canon PowerShot S80 has shuter speeds up to 15sec.. But thats probably not a entry point and shoot camera.. I would also suggest buying an older entry level DSLR second hand.. there is so much more to play with then with a point and shoot camera..
