As the title says: I've been to the Nürburgring today and spent a phantastic time there!

Entrance (I assume the cars in the following don't need to be named all separately, please don't hesistate to ask if you shouldn't know a particular one!)

Weather turned out to be a perfect light cloudy October day instead of the predicted thunderstorms which arrived just after I got back home.

What strikes me, is that there are many cars on the track. Do they get in your way while driving?

I swear I was going on the inside on my first lap - after which my brakes were smelling so badly that I decided not to go on a faster lap any more (note to myself: don't take another four people alongside yourself on your fast lap next time images/smilies/biggrin.gif

The track was very crowded indeed and I have a sneaking suspicion that it rather was me who was getting in the way of all the other drivers and not the other way round, but I don't think that I did spoil anybody's lap too badly. images/smilies/smile.gif

Lineup of cars was incredible: approx. 40% BMW's, 40% Porsches and some others cars as well!

why would the carosel screw up the suspension?

Aw, come on! Why speak about times when all that counts is the pleasure of simply driving that holy stretch of road at least once in your life! images/smilies/biggrin.gif

See, there were four passengers on board beside me, and I don't have the most powerful car on world, additional the tires are a bit worn out not to mention the problems I had with the thurbocharger and the brakes, then I was bound to slow down because of several accidents on the track and always was fearing that some of my passengers might start vomiting because of the g-forces...Something thirteenish - hey, at least I'm honest

Man, was busy that day. Was it a weekend?

I've been a couple of times and it is chaotic, and very dangerous, if there are too many people bunched up together. Especially when some people are in slow cars hogging the road and you have sports cars trying to get around them as quickly as possible so they can brag about their laptime.

Err, Peter - the Ring's located in Germany and here we're bound to drive on the RIGHT side of the road and to overtake left images/smilies/wink.gif

I've been there on a sunday and it really was crowded - took me nearly half an hour to approach the entrance when I arrived there (waiting times improved later on!), and the pic with the red 944 turbo was taken after spending five to ten minutes waiting to get OFF the track again! Astonishingly, despite the heavy traffic, the track was open for driving all day apart from half an hour. (Had to be closed when a Mk2 Golf spinned and the biker following had no chance but to crash directly into him images/smilies/sad.gif

, didn't see it personally but a friend of mine captured parts of the accident on video)
