So, I've just finished my military-service as a photographer for the navy
now so I thought I'd share some of my shots with you. There are
SEVERAL more, thousands probably but here are atleast some.
I also tossed in some photos not related to the navy, but hell. Less threads is good?

(This is Snus. Very common in Scandinavia but for some weird reason banned in many countries. It's stuff with nicotione that you put under your upper lip. So, the same as cigarettes then only less dangerous as there is no SMOKE.)

Wow! What did you use for lenses? Did you use filters as well? All of the shots had amazing color and depth of field, or did you do that in post?

Most of the pictures have been taken with a rather old Canon 10D and a great
Canon EF-S 16-35mm F:2.8 lens.

The one with the guy on the hood of a Land Rover was with a Nikon D70 and the one
of King Juan Carlos of Spain was quite special. I used a Nikon D2X and a 50mm F:1.4!!
If you misfocus by a millimeter the image is ruined images/smilies/lol.gif

You've posted some of those before (the ones near the bottom) but there's some new ones as well. And they're all absolutely awesome, nice work.

My roomate for the last week was from Sweden, and they told me all about Snus. Apparently people who use it a lot have behind their upper lip sort of eroded away? images/smilies/yucky.gif

Great shots and very impressive post-process, except for a few where you can see the burning, such as the spec ops helicopter, you should go over it with a finer brush to remove that haloing.. Unless that's what youre after, but looks unnatural to me.

Well, if you do it a lot maybe. But there are two types of Snus, theres
the loose one, where you have to shape it yourself. And theres the
bagged one which comes in small packs that you just shuve in, they
are a bit more hygenic and not so strong.

I don't always have that much time to do the post-processing so sometimes
you can tell I've cut some corners but I can't be bothered to redo it! images/smilies/tongue.gif

Simply great.

I particulary like the ones with the helicopters landing (circling over) the ship and the one showing the back of the ship with the Norwegian flag.

Do you want (plan) to do photography for a living further on now?

want to be a photographer so I put it on hold for now...

You certainly don't lack the skills and the potential for being a photographer from my point of view! (But then, I'm a bloody amateur images/smilies/smile.gif

) But sometimes you can appreciate things better if you're not bound to deal with them on a daily basis like doing photography as a profession. Whatever you do, I hope that you'll make the right decision.
