Car: (as soon as I get my license) 2001 Focus 1.8D Rep Power: 30 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well... I went for a long walk and took my D40 with me. And photographed quite a few things along the way... This one was actually taken a couple of days ago from my window. A roundabout about 150 m from where I live... and a lot of cars parked in that area. This street has just undergone repairs, because there is a lot of heavy traffic on it and the asphalt gets grooved in less than 3 months every time they fix it. Apartment blocks... and a children's playground. One of the two major shopping centers in Cluj-Napoca. This one is about 5 minutes away from me. Nothing... and a few parked cars. Two colleges from different universities teaching the same thing. Plus a couple of places to stay for students that aren't from the city. Well, well, well... what do we have here? Have Jezza's donkeys escaped and travelled by plane to Romania? A busy crossroad at the end of a busy street... A major library. The center of the Mărăşti area of Cluj-Napoca. Going through that area now... ... just to come across a DB9 on a tow truck, parked at the side of the road... ... and while walking the distance of another bus stop... ... a McMerc SLR passes by. I've seen this car parked, at times, close to where I live. The building which houses my high school. From what I know, it's the oldest school building in Cluj-Napoca. A very Romanian traffic jam... Buses... and elderly people waiting for them. Pigeons!!!! A Romanian hero: Mihai Viteazul/Michael the Brave, the first man to unite Romania as a whole in 1600, although it only lasted a single year and he was killed a year later. Another memorial, dedicated, as I recall, to the victims of the anti-Communist revolution in December 1989. A very busy area of the city... and filled with buildings belonging to banks. The Roman-Catholic cathedral, an example of Gothic architecture, and also the tallest building in Cluj-Napoca. Romanian flags... probably the only thing done by the previous mayor of the city, the ultra-nationalist Gheorghe Funar. This area is the heart of the biggest university in Cluj-Napoca, the Babeş-Bolyai University. And this is the "HQ" building of the university. The statue of another hero of Romanians in this area, one of the figureheads of the revolution in 1848: Avram Iancu. In fact, the whole square is named after him. The Orthodox Cathedral. I do go there to pray... sometimes... Another old-style building... ... and a mix of styles packed together. The National Theater and Opera... ... and the Cluj-Napoca Court of Appeal. Just another 500+bhp ugly SUV... The "boulevard" which I use in order to go to school... Another roundabout... Great news! The Dacia Sandero is on the road and popping up like mushrooms! ![]() Same street... Another church... ... and the apartment block where I currently live. Whew, that was quite a sweat... including resizing all the photos and processing each of them a bit... What do you think?

Rep Power: 31 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Third picture from the bottom: what's CJ32PRV? Is that a Romanian in-house model that I've missed? I'm aware of just about everything Dacia's ever made, and the Oltcit, but it's neither of those... I remember reading about some nasty, basic machine that was even cheaper than an Oltcit, and found some pictures of it somewhere, but I can't believe that ever had five doors... EDIT: it's the Lăstun I'm thinking of, and it's not one of them. On further thoughts, this looks like a Daihatsu of some description. And James May might joke about it, but Dacia look to have done a fine job with the Sandero. I'd rather have one of those than anything from Malaysia, or most of the Koreans...
