^ i guess he had sketches that he rendered and added some effects
but if no, then go nutts with the pen/line tool whatever, render a bit, blur, use the layer effects and blending options, chrome and stuff like that |

just simple lines and lens flares with twirls going both ways then screen em or overlay em
then play around with the polar coordinates option |
