Default Audi R8 convertible

Of course no real R8 convertible exists, but in a thread related to this, someone jokingly requested a photochop. I undertook the challenge but initially had troubles because I was using a source that was too difficult to modify. Anyways I tried again with a different source and made this

The sources are here:

Enjoy 8)

Edit: here is the original thread regarding the convertible R8

In that same thread, I stole borrowed your idea and came up with this.

It's bad, I know, but I think it gives a better idea of what it would look like. Even if it is technically impossible with the engine where the roof would fold down images/smilies/tongue.gif

But then again, they are germans.

Ze difference is dat I am undertaking a convertible front mount engined perspective and zat LurkerPatrol is takink on a more realistic Targa approach.

The A-pillar is has too much of a curve to it that makes me think of a TT or a Beetle convertible.

I just whipped up a little chopshop of the R8 without it's roof.

^ That magnificent image was created by taking the RS4 Cabriolet's interior and applying it to the R8. images/smilies/rofl.gif images/smilies/lmao.gif images/smilies/lol.gif
(Actually if you squint from far away it's not that bad...images/smilies/think.gif)

Enjoy. images/smilies/tongue.gif

It's not bad, but as you said, since the engine is there I wouldn't think they would try it like that. I thought it would be more like the Lambo Murcielago roadster.

Nice efforts all around, but the basic idea of an R8 convertible doesn't stick well, all three make the front look too long to work as a convertible. Tt has a very forward stance, making it an awesome solid top, but spoiling the no roof look imo

Dude the point of making the convertible was because theres an entire topic about it in the auto section and someone requested a photochop (the link to the thread is in the first topic). I'm not sure about the others but I'm with you on the convertible aspect. I don't like the idea at all and I hope that Audi don't make it.
