Well I taught myself, but that probably doesnt help you much! images/smilies/tongue.gif

Check on Deviant art, there's a few good ones there which are useful as a starting point.

Donbenni has made some nice tutorials, but they are for photoshop and not illustrator. But it does help you understand all the basics of how to do the colouring and such.

Well, it's a bit technical, but photoshop can only make images buildup by pixels. illustrator uses paths, and you can make the end result as big as you want, even if it is 10 times the size of the original. Photoshop uses pixels, so if you enlarge that you will get a very pixelated look rather quick. I started with photoshop as well and it is great too, but now i know how to use illustrator i prefer it.

Best to probably learn photoshop before illustrator though. If I were you I'd go to the library and pick up a tutorial book for photoshop so you can get the basics down first. There is a lot to know in photoshop and once you have that down it'll all swap over to illustrator.

I personally still prefer PS to Illustrator, and by the look of things so does Donbenni.

Here's a vector I did in PS, with a link to another, older one. images/smilies/smile.gif

Linky

I always vector using a picture blown up to at least 10,000x10,000 pixels, which means I can make any size image I want from the original PSD. You can still resize images without losing quality when you use paths in PS, and the PSD format.

the kinda vector i would like to make is the kind that you do matt200 (or like the Enzo werne did), not a very real looking car with sharp shading and no refleksions and all that stuff.
But i just cant seem to find a tutorial that explains how to make it like that s:

Btw. I really like that Land Rover you made! (:
