Could anyone please help with a charity logo?

I was wondering if anyone skilled with Photoshop etc. would be able to lend their skills.

My mother helps run a small charity called Haematology & Oncology Kids, or HONKS, that raises money for the children's cancer ward of the local children's hospital.

Someone involved in the charity has designed a little honker character to use as part of the charity's logo and has drawn it up in colored pencil.

I was hoping that some kind and highly skilled artist would be able to take the pencil drawing and make it into a more professional looking computer generated version of it for use on the charities documents, letterheads etc.

Here is the original drawing of the character.

Didn't really re-draw it. Just pushed it through a filter in Photoshop. I think somebody with an artistic flair can do much better.

This is just the reduced version of it, I have of course the larger version which was brushed over, smudged, outlined, sharpened. Shadow and lightening was added. I retained some of the original pencil texture. Send me a pm if you would like the PSD file, maybe you can work on it more and refine the look.

This is the first time I used photoshop for this purpose, and I didn't use a tutorial, which is probably the wrong way. However, if you feel it's suitable, then feel free to use it.

Since you basically have the O right there why not use it?

Worked on it in illustrator. It's a vector file so it can be enlarged and shrunk as much as you like.

So sorry I haven't replied sooner. Nobody responded for a while and then I have been snowed under with university and exam (which are always fun), but it is fantastic to see that people have taken the time to respond.

Wow, thanks so much everyone who has taken their valuable time and put their considerable skill towards working on the character and it is really interesting to see everyone's little takes on it and how they apply their skills.

We are really liking the look of LurkerPatrol's and THGL as they have a clean and professional looking design with very nice colour and shading whilst still maintaining the cartoony look we were going for with the children's charity.
