I agree with every bit that pdanev talked about. It really hurts the people who do more hard and accurate work when a not so good chop wins.

About the picture quality, I have never been a fan of clear background/showroom cars. If we were to include cars with background/scenery to be edited, it would bring more choice, i.e. it is hard to find a good enough car in a clear background.

reviews & opinion:

was fun and interesting in the begining, but lately i lost interest in chopping (and i had an important exam, so not really much time left)

why i lost interest? a lot of the pictures lately were really poor quality, not sharp enough, quite "pixelish" etc, which in turn means that you cant get out a quality chop at the end

then there was the voting. a lot of times some chops win that are technically speaking not quality chops. just because they had some "funny-original" idea (e.g. caravan bmw), imo is not enough to win this competition. doing a quick copy paste job by putting a caravan on top of a beemer, or putting a car into the sea or whatsoever, is not really a big ps achievement. sure creativity counts, but this is still a ps contest, and technical aspects have to be considered when voting and awarding points.

also, a lot of times some really strange voting happened, and chops won that were not good ps-wise at all, and leaving some much more quality work on last places. here im not referring to the funny idea thing i mentioned above, but e.g. there was some really modified car that won once, and none of those modifications were properly done. whereas some other chops, with slightly less but much better done modifications, got only 3-4-5th place.

so i personally lost faith in the whole idea, and tbh i think the voting/point awarding for the latest exercises were ridiculous. if people decide to vote, than they should better spend a few minutes by examining the chops more carefully, a bit more in detail, and then voting, instead of quickly scrowling down the borwser, and oh that one looks cool, 1st place. a lot of chops seem nice at 1st glance, but once you spend 1-2minutes looking and the modifications, you will realise they arent that good.

which all ends up, imho, to no feedback whatsoever. i personally like to receive some feedback/criticism on my chops, to see if i have made some mistakes or not, if im doing well or not. but with such voting this is not happening.

oh and one more thing, is that voting should not be based on, "oh i like that color", "oh i like the rims". as long as they fit the general theme of the car (racing rims on race cars, bling wheels on bling cars), and they are nicely changed, angle, perspective is fine, than it really doesnt matter what the particular wheel looks like.
X2!
