Default Veyron vs. Eurofighter wallpaper

Found the pic in the desktop thread, had potential so i gave it a whirl:

Multiple res's on the devArt page:

Credit to fbc for the helmet pics images/smilies/cheers.gif

Edited it to include Hammond, stole the signature from the pic he thanked FG in, i think it looks better, i just couldn't incorporate the helmet as i wanted.

Nice effort but I have the original on my laptop and I think it's a lot nicer without the effects you've done.

Looks nice without the helmets, but I'd still have the original myself.

Also I think it would work better if the Veyron at the bottom wasn't the white/blue one but the same scheme as Hammond's.

I like what you were trying to go for and I'll give you an A for effort.

The thing is though, the original picture was a simple B&W with some nice added touches in terms of color. They layer masked over the thrusters and pieces of the veyron. That was a very good thing to do in terms of grabbing your attention and giving a proper focal point to the wallpaper.

Once you added the top gear text and the little strips on the top left and bottom right corners, you started to draw attention away from the main attraction and sort of lost that focal point.

I would normally approve of just the top gear text being there by itself with nothing else added but I think in this case it's best to just leave it be.

I like the effects you were going for and I'm sure you could use them for other wallpapers. I think this might not have been one to do up unfortunately.
