i heard on BBC radio 2 yesterday something with regards to the trivial big brother issue going down.
the bollywood actress in the BB house is geting her ass handed to her by jade goody of all people and everyones crying racist and bigot. give me a break. jade goody insults the entire world with her minute level of intelligence, a few possibly racist remarks are nothing. is this bollywood actor so spineless and daft that she cant dish any words of hurt back at jade? its easy enough to do thats for sure. anyway, a politician, david cameron i think - though i didnt quite catch the name, seemed to be pretty much unmoved by it. "there is a good regulatory action.... its called the off button" (not exact quote) i was blown away. the guy couldnt be any more right. if you dont like what your watching...the remote has an off button and buttons to change the chanel! its a novel idea and requires minimal effort! cameron, despite his stupid green stance...is my hero for possibly saying that. i know for a fact there are people in this country who go home at night and sit in their wingback, remote in one hand and a telephone with the complaints department on speed dial just waiting for something they dont agree with. they love sunday nights, they sit infront of the TV waiting for jeremy to open his mouth and bang...straight on the blower to the BBC. i think its time the world got over being offended you have a choice to see or not to see things that will offend you, and if you chose to see it then tough fucking luck mate. david cameron appears to get this idea pretty well (if it was indeed him who said it) what do you guys think about this BB showdown? |

News flash: Big Brother is one of the worst idea that British TV has had EVER, its so crap Id rater eat my own feet than watch it. Its disgraceful that they are making racist comments towards that Indian wife on TV with so many people watching, and that C4 don't care about it and are actually enjoying it as they are getting ratings. Bunch of wankers.

im not sure if the comments being made are explicitly racist, i dont watch so i wouldnt know, but this notion of being offended by anything and everything really does my head in. if i get made fun of, i give as good as i get, i dont go running to some complaints department to voice my displeasure. its a big reason why i enjoy TG so much. jeremy just doesnt care about offending people, and takes offense to himself in his stride. if they all made fun of ms goody in there... i doubt us english folk would be burning flags and stuff in the street. the minorities take it too seriously and too far like its a big deal. i still feel like if a bad comment is made in relation to an indian or pakistani its racism, if the same comment is made by an indian/pakistani to a white english native...its not racism. minorities need to stop playing the racism and offense cards becuase its just getting stupid now. if your life is that empty that your offended by some one with less mental capability than a broom or by something mentioned on tv then you have more pressing matters to attend. some one ought to be telling them that they are not in india now, they are in miserable wet england and the 25th of december shall be called christmas and not winter celebration just to appease some muslim immigrants. by all means bring your traditional foods and parties and religions, adding to our culture only makes it richer...but dont start rubbing out english traditions all together just because you are offended. the least the ungrateful sods can do is respect our traditions, its the least they can do for us letting them come to live here in the first place, they have no right to come here and change our culture to suit them. but i really dont know how or why these people do it. i went to school with a load of different minorities... chinese, indian, pakistani, african, jamaican etc.... no one could care less, we had whites vs blacks football, we called them, they called us and at the end of the day everyone were still friends and we had a good laugh. im a tolerant person, your race doesnt matter and your views i will respect. i will even adhere to any customs in my friends homes be they indian, muslim or whatever, i am a guest in their home and i'll abide by their traditions in their home, likewise when they visit my home they do as i do. fortunately most of the minorities in this country are exactly the same...they do as we do whilst sharing some of what they do and everyones richer for it. but its the few extremists who ruin it for everyone and give the rest of their race a bad name. if i went to a muslim country and started laying down my laws, saying all the beautiful women should be on page 3, jesus birth is celebrated as christmas, you'll go to church on a sunday and eat sunday dinner and your pubs must serve good ale and if you havent got pubs you better get busy building some to appease me i'd probably get shot in the face. i think britain is one of the most tolerant places on earth, but the people coming here are very much less tolerant. |
