Nothing is ever clear cut like that. My uncle was molested by a male neighbor when he was 9 or 10. He's now a homosexual. Nature or nurture?

Who says that has anything to do with that? If some guy fell in love with me 5 years ago would that be a reason for me to be heterosexual? Or the other way around?

Seriously, get out of here with that narture vs. nurture garbage.

It doesn't matter what your sexuality is, you deserve all the rights and priveladges that any other citizen in your country gets. Period.

Some people just feel way too threatened with something that really does not concern them. Two people of the same sex want to wed, how the fuck is that going to change the definition of marriage for you? We all know that's ultimately what you're against.

Thank you, I don't understand how people are so against it, they need to get a life and stop worrying or complaining about other people.

Being gay is nature's way of saying that your genetic material should not be passed on.

I think people are born gay just like others are born pedophiles. They have an attraction to something unusual, but ultimately it is a choice if they choose to follow that attraction.

To me, I don't really care what two consenting adults do, but I still find it gross to look at.

BTW: I'm not saying acting on a gay attraction is the same as a pedophile acting on that attraction.

I refute your argument that they can't help it because they're born gay and now you don't want me to use it?

Should pedophiles get all the same rights and priviledges as homosexual, heterosexual, and bisexual citizens?

No because a child is not mature enough to make decisions about sex.

A grown adult, on the other hand, is.

What I'm saying is whether they were born gay, became gay, half gay, 70% gay, whatever, they deserve the rights you and me have.

I think nobody should be discriminated against. My only problem with gay marriage stems from my religious beliefs. I believe marriage was ordained by God to be between only a man and a woman. I'm fine with 'civil unions' as long as it establishes all the same rights as married couples.

Studies have shown that certain episodes in your pre and early teens can affect your "arousal patterns". Like for instance I read an interview with a necrophile, and he went to a catholic school, and the headmistress died and he was elected to be the one that kissed her forehead under the funeral, somehow he got aroused by it and ever since he got aroused by the idea of having sex with a newly dead body. And pedophiles often very molested themselves as kids. So the nurture isn't bullshit.
However, I don't think that it's a totally nurture thing. A buddy of mine's cousin liked to play with dolls and dress up as girls since the age of three, and his mother came to terms with that her son was gay since he was five.
Besides, why should you care if someone is gay? If that makes them happy? You don't have to go to gay-bars or join the Europride parade.... and yes, equal rights.

Why are you stupid religious people so tight assed?

If you could atleast think for yourself instead of throwing other people's opinion and arguments in every conversations it would make things much better... images/smilies/rolleyes.gif images/smilies/thumbdown.gif

Im glad you showed restraint and responded intellectually. images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

I have the feeling you know someone in your family who is gay, am I correct?

By the way, show me PROOF that marriage was created for gays, lesbians and straight couples and I'll admit to discriminating.

If not then this still stands,

Mariage doesn't mean ANYTHING now, look at divorce rates justin.

And I don't give a shit that God is against that, God doesn't even exist so I won't make up my life following what "God" thinks is good and bad..

hell, no sex before marriage, yeah right!

The important thing is the legal rights they get now that they can be married.

Exactly my point! Gay/Lesbian marriage wont turn it around. It was once a tradition that was respected but now that some Liberals got their way , first with divorce and then with this it has turn it into the sham you described. It certainly means alot to me, I will get married someday to a WOMAN and commit myself to her only and start a family. images/smilies/smile.gif That is something gays/lesbians could [b]never[b] do. Oh, actually adoption technically helps them out.

My parents have been married for over 25yrs now. This is becoming rare as divorce and cheating spouses allow a sacred union to be "shitted on". I feel sorry for anyone that grew up in a divorced home, separated parents etc but if their parents took seriously the vows they took or worked hard at staying together they would have had a chance at remaining together.

Well I just hope you are right about that, about God not existing, especially after what you said. And I never said you shouldn't have sex before marriage, its unrealistic in our society.

Secondly, do you have someone gay in your family? You seem to be adamant towards gay "rights" (the right to ruin marraige) and such but I think there is a deeper reason for that, maybe you are gay yourself?

Are you? I suspect you have an uncle or aunt or someone that is gay, let me know one way or the other on my hunch. Im seriously asking, Im not kiding.

Of course I wont ever recognize a gay couple as being married so they are married in their own way, the view of being liberated is really just a method at getting towards anarchy. Freedom to do whatever you want, no God or Govt to stop you. Heck, why dont we legalize cocaine, repeal rape as a criminal offense so we call all have fun freely. No strings attached!

You just seem to contradict yourself, first you say liberals ruined marriage (whatever images/smilies/rolleyes.gif ) and then you say we should not give gays the right to marry because we'd ruin marriage!

And I'm not gay and don't need to know gays to have common sence and an open mind.

If you admit "God" and all that stuff was wrong with sex before marriage, then why not accept it for marriage?

And FYI, my parents have been married for 27 years now, so it's not like I didn't have a good example of marriage..

The ancient greeks had open homosexual partnerships before your god ever came on the scene. Your definition of marriage isn't the only one that exists on this planet.

I'm all for legalising all drugs, since it's a health matter rather than a criminal matter. The only time you're harming someone when you take drugs is when you support the criminal underworld. Legalisation removes the criminals from the picture.

You equating rape and gay marriage, on the other hand, is quite fucked up. It's so sad to see how insecure religious people are about their 'sacred' practices. Tell me this, let's say two people of the same sex choose to get married, how does that threaten your definition of marriage?

Or is it simply a case of you trying to force YOUR beliefs on society?

Fuck outta here with that nonsense.
