It makes Canada less of an anal retentive country. At least it has an open mind regarding everything images/smilies/wink.gif.

There are tons and tons of churches that would bless a same-sex couple in marriage without any qualms.

And this is coming from a fairly religious Christian.
No religious organisation in Canada is forced to bless a couple if they don't believe the marriage taking place is right. People are still protected under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The issue was some provinces, Alberta namely, still haven't legalised gay marriage. It's more or less a government thing. The government will recognize you as a couple, and you will get all the benefits as a couple, but the churches won't be forced to wed you.

If one is a firm believer in personal freedom, one should be proud of it.

Hey, wasn't Canada going to nix the Loonie? At least you guys have a cool bird on your $1 coin. We have some person I've never heard of on ours, plus I've seen like four since they were released.

BTW us godless sodomites in california (surrounded by jesusville) congratulate u guys. I'm personally hetero, but i have some friends who are lesbians and were married in San francisco. My view on it is since so many heterosexual people have made a mockery of marriage, why can't two people who genuinely have feelings for each other marry. Britney spears did it images/smilies/lol.gif
