From his statement I thought he'd be voting for Liberal (giving them another chance).

I really wish more people gave the NDP a chance this time. The Tories got their run in the 90s, and the Libs have been in power for a while. I say let's experiment with some communist-anarchists and see how that works out images/smilies/biggrin.gif.

Is Quebec being treated unfairly or repressed in some way? Do the french Canadians just not like the rest of Canada? Is it because Quebec people think they are very different from the rest of Canadians?

I just want to know what a Quebecois has to say.

I think the Natives should form a cohesive party and also strive for seperation. I believe a Mohawk state alone would run from Quebec, through Ontario, and stretch down to southern New York.

That would really light a flame under the white man's ass images/smilies/biggrin.gif.

I also want to know why the Quebecois are especially pissed off about this scandal? That's how I guaged the reactions on the news last night from a few people on the street. Is it because it happened in their province? Bestow us with knowledge oh frenchies.

The entire thing was a propaganda campaign aimed at promoting federalism. All it has done, I think, is expose how corrupt all these politicians are. Anyway, I'm pro-seperation should the people of Quebec choose to secede

Sorry, forgot who said something about Martin not profiting and deserving a second chance....riiiight. So my buddy robs a store while I make sure no one is looking...I know about it, but my buddy doesn't give me any of the money, so I don't profit, therefore I'm innocent?? I don't think so.

Martin needs to go, and the sooner, the better. I wish we'd get some real politicians...I don't particularly like any one party that's out there. We should just fire the lot of douchebags, and make everyone start from square one images/smilies/lol.gif

I think the opposition will force an election come June or something...never will they give Martin the chance to brown-nose it until December. Not sure what I'll vote yet.

And lastly, Ren, I agree with UKD...what is so bad about being part of one of the greatest nations in the world? I think Canada is a great place, and obviously better off than any country not among the G8 (or is it 9 now??) What don't you already have in the way of rights that you would gain by separating? Quebec is already so different as far as legal structure goes..how much more do you want?

Are you separatist just 'cause your parents are, or are you personally in favor of separation?

Not trying to start a war here, just asking....I understand the whole "protect the culture" thing, but I can't for the life of me figure out why Quebec wants to separate so bad images/smilies/wacko.gif images/smilies/wacko.gif

Yeah I believe he knew about it, but since he wasn't in Chretien's "clan", I doubt he was involved in it.

And afterall, stuff like this happen under the table all the time in politics. People don't donate to a political party for nothing.

Well Ren, how did we find out what was happening in the Gomery inquiry?? Through a US weblog. I just believe that we will never find out the persons responsible for this. It will be covered up. I'm ready for an election right now but NO PARTY stands out as being better off. I don't know. I'd probably vote for NDP since that is who I voted for last time.

I agree with SiR_Dude on the part that Canada is a great country but the POLITICIANS are fucking up this country badly. We need to clear the whole House and start fresh. Like SiR_Dude said images/smilies/smile.gif.

And yes Renesis, we want to know what is up with Quebec. I have never gotten a straight answer out of anybody other than the fact the Quebececs hate Ontarians, for some unknown reason. I'd love to move to Quebec since it is very culturally rich and it would fit me nicely but am scared of people trying to put a knife in my back, NOT LITERALLY. So Ren, we just want an elaborate explanation. images/smilies/smile.gif Please & Thank You.

No no, if I could, well... damn! if they only wait a few more months, I'll be able to vote, and I'll vote Bloc, especially in this current poltical climate.

As for the elaborate explanation, urgh, remind me to do it later, it's too late tonight...

Ok well, it won't be elaborate, but it'll be my take on a little explanation.

Yes, it mostly is because we consider ourselves (and we are) different (notice I didn't say better or anything like that).

Not only because of our language, culture and historical background, but also because of our political views, I'd say we're a tad more left winged than the rest of Canada and definately not pro-war.

Our views on many topics are more "european" and less "american".

While this cohabitation is still doable, if the Conservatives were elected, THEN we'd have a problem, because they're more right winged, pro-americans, and don't care about Quebec, they know they won't get our votes anyway.

Whereas the Liberals have worked and did stuff to gain our confidence, etc. and all prime ministers since about 30 years have been Quebecers.

That might not be telling much but feel free to ask questions if you have some, lol I suck at "freestyle" explanations images/smilies/wink.gif

That's good to know.

What changes do you think Quebec would make if it was sovereign?

If I ever go back to Canada, Toronto is my first choice (I have a condo there). Montreal is a close second.

What about Montreal? Everyone seems to speak english there, and the women are enough reasons to move images/smilies/biggrin.gif.

Just wondering, does seperation means like a completely independant state, or would Quebec still be a part of Canada some how?

Most importantly, would I need a passport to cross over?

Also, just wondering, if Quebecois are Liberal in their ideas, why is the BQ sideing with the PC?

And what does everyone think of Layton trying to save the government? If the Liberals can secure those three Independants, it would be a brilliant move on the NDP's part.

I have no fucking idea what is going on with our current government. What the NDP and Liberals did blew me out of the water. Don't know what to think anymore.

Layton just want to be PM when Martin's ass gets roasted...

Maybe we should vote in those Greenpeace treehuggers for a term, just to make the real parties get their ass on the road and do some REAL political work..maybe that would teach them. images/smilies/lol.gif images/smilies/lol.gif
