The media (typically right-wing, stuff like the Daily Mail, Times, Anything owned by News Corp) do like to make shit up about this and they've been caught lying many a time.

Edit: This blog post by an Ambulance worker in London kinda sums up what the media say and then what they Muslim community is really like: http://randomreality.blogware.com/bl...9/3552115.html
I love how more comments are about him installing Vista than about the rest of the post. images/smilies/lol.gif

As for Fitna: I don't plan on seeing it or its trailer, and I haven't watched any of the videos in this thread, either. If they don't like Muslims or Arabs, good for them. As long as they don't give me a hard time, I don't give a rat's ass what they think.

I love camel jockey/KKK showdowns. Gives my faculty here much to discuss.

This middle-ages mentality of religion vs religion is just so funny. Like Muslim people are some weird foreign people that give you the heebie-jeebies, while you cower and plot with your fellow white Christians on how they are surely plotting to destroy you. Its hilarious.
+1, you took the words right out of my mouth.

Wtf is this crap? Muslims in India for example are generally at peace with their fellow Hindus and Christians and Jews and whatnot. Sure we've had our strifes (who hasn't) but Indian Muslims are free to do what they wish when they wish (Both Muslim men and women have held positions in office). FFS my family back at home lives in an area completely filled with Muslim people. At 4 AM you hear the chanting in the mosque, and no-one gives a shit. People aren't going to march outside the mosque and start rioting going "waah, stop praying so early, I need sleep waah". So it's not that Islam and other religions can't coexist peacefully. It's just lack of people opening up their brain and accepting other people's traditions (be it non-Muslims accepting Islamic ways of life, or Muslims accepting other religions or anything).

I'm not going to sit here wearing a tye-dyed shirt chanting "give peace a chance", but this talk of "zomg he's got a beard and a cloth on his head and he's going to ruin our country" is nothing but 100% grade-A BULLSHIT

With anything human, the best place to start understanding a culture is to get to know it per individual, instead of as a whole.

I certainly have no problems with anybody who is Muslim, and the radicals who go and blow things up are a very small percentage of the population.

However, I wonder why people are jumping all over Geert Wilders for releasing this video. If you think you'll be offended by it, then don't watch it. Nobody has put a gun to your head and forced you to watch this video. The man has an opinion, and he should have the right to express what he feels. This is the price of "freedom of speech", that somebody somewhere will always disagree with the majority. We shouldn't be jumping up and down like an angry mob because his opinion differs from our own.

Whilst ultimately I don't agree with him, I'm not about to condemn him for releasing this video to express his views on the issue (unlike various journalists)
