The Iraq War.

Frankly, McCain is the worse of two evils and if he wants to be Bush 2 by pissing off "rogue countries" and staying in Iraq until "God knows when", then I fear for not only the future of this country but the future of the world as well.

Even Obama's dreamily charming rhetoric with little substance behind it is better, because:

I voted "Economy"...and I consider the housing crisis to be along those lines. Of course, those issues are all linked in their own way.

I have some businesses in the food industry and some real estate investments...and it's very rough right now.

I wish there was a party for small government (but acknowledged the need for the FDA, FCC - pre-Carlin Jihad-, Federal military, etc), and respected peoples' rights. All I see is the pro-war police state party (Republican) and the pro-war police state party (Democrat) - and no saying your are against the war and then voting for it is not anti-war.

I put homeland security, but I mean that as in: How far the government is going with measures like the patriot act in an attempt to protect us from everything.

FYI: this poll could have been multiple choice. images/smilies/wink.gif

I voted the election. While McCain is a definite improvement over the retarded monkey we currently have in office, I'd much rather have Obama in office. McCain doesn't seem flexible enough in both social and world issues (i.e. willing to change his mind).

Honestly, let me be the first to say I want Obama to win SOLELY because he's black. Also, McCain is fat. and if he's not, he is in my mind and I wont stand for it.

"The 'do-nothing-18%-approval-rating' Congress who are wasting our tax dollars. "

This was the closest thing to my concerns about our government right now. It's not just Congress, though. The entire system needs to be wiped clean. Too much corruption from both sides, a complete loss of focus from both parties of securing the needs of the common citizen, too much politicking... It's no longer about helping the people; it's about helping themselves. It's about making relationships by trading your votes for favors with your fellow representatives. It's about voting for things you know isn't the best for this country simply because you want to ensure your political party doesn't place their nomination with someone else come the next election.

Ditch the 2-party system. It doesn't work.

Sir, governmen has been like this since government started. In order to get rid of the 2 party system more people need to vote for a third party. Greens always been the closest. Human nature will probably never allow a government to be truly clean or even close to. Thats why I'm for robot overlords.

The Iraq War.

Good American soldiers are dying for no good reason, and its not helping the economy or gas prices.

Coalition governments aren't much better, they give loads of power to minority political powers. Look at Israel.

I hope to God/Cthulhu/FSM that the Green party is never a major power. The Libertarians are a bit too extreme for my liking. I do see a new conservative party coming to power however, there is a pretty big and growing group of conservatives that are disenfranchised by the Republican Party. I can see them all just saying fuck it and leaving after the disappointment of the last decades.

All of it plus more.
I honestly want to go move to an island away from all of this, maybe pack some plants and move to outerspace.
I seriously don't think it's a coincidence that 3/5 people in my age group I know have tried to kill themselves in an intentional manner, not in the normal classic stupidity kind. I watch, read and listen to the news and going ons in the world, I observe the people around me, then I crawl back into bed because I don't see myself ever having a future. We live in a very depressing world and I am fucking jaded. It's like you have to work your ass of to have enough money to exist, then spend all the the time not working trying to recover from it. If someone asks me what I like to do for fun I end up laughing at them because who has the time, energy, or money for that now? My me time consists of playing with gadgets while I'm in bed or enjoying my car on the way to a place I have to go anyway. I'm actually glad that I have no public transport here because I'd loose what is often the most and only enjoyable bit of my day. So many people I talk to are living this way. People shouldn't be living this way it's not healthy.

Neither the democrats nor the republicans offer the people anything. They are all sitting comfy, they've made it impossible for any new parties to enter the mix and carved the United States into districts that will ensure they continue to get elected.

In order for a new party to be successful, the people need to stop voting for Republicans because they are Republicans and Democrats because they are Democrats. They are voting for parties, not people or ideas. It's sick.

And I think some of the more respectable members from either party need to break ranks and form a new party. Then we will start getting somewhere.

I almost couldn't vote for that very reason. I said the price of commodities though. Indian foods have been taking a bit hit along with just general groceries, and I just hope they don't get any higher. If I have to go back to Berk for one last semester, I'm going to have to go back to bad ol' pizza instead of going to get stuff I can make at home that's healthy.

But I'm worried about more than that. I'm worried about fuel costs, and I really can't wait until fuel cells become mainstream. I seriously think hybrids are just a poorly placed stepping stone because it still depends on gas, and once that's depleted and we move to hydrogen there will be no need.

The election used to be a big issue but everytime I turn on the TV and hear one of these lame news stations cover it it makes my ear bleed. I turn back to Top Gear or something else because I just can't stand this fight between 2 rotten apples. One has experience, but he was born before Christ and he wants to stay in Iraq and frankly another repub in the office is just cause for trouble. The other has charm but has no experience and is somewhat fickle.

Economy is also another big thing. The economy mostly because I have to pay back some loans that I took for college and we used to be able to do that, but now I'm just paying the interest. I hope it doesn't tank down horribly and the next president can fix it (doubt either of them can).
