The big dig was a project to alleviate Boston’s terrible traffic and stop it marring the view’s of the city. So the whole thing is moved underground in a seriously cool way connecting tunnels, new bridges, a whole new artery. I was in taxi cab going to Boston University from the train station (not back bay) and bam, the taxi slammed into a little Jetta. The last time that I was in Boston it was amazingly easier to move around and the tunnel was really cool to drive in. If you get a chance look up at picture of Leonard P. Zakim Bridge beautiful design.

What about ceramic plates? Most vests won't stop a 7.62mm round from an AK-47 without the plates. The problem with the plates is that they are hard to wear because they are rigid. Many soldiers took them out early in the war.

The point is that they were available and I would like to see some proof that "most" soldiers removed their body armor. 7.62 at what range? How about shrapnel from IEDs?

Didn't say most. But if you really want to know why soldiers are issued with what they issued go do some research.

About the Big Dig...12 billion dollars to lawsuits, corruption, poor planning, fixing mistakes, settlements, workers getting drunk on the job, poor-quality concrete, covering up thousands of leaks that stemmed from poor concrete, paying off the family of that lady who got killed when part of the Ted Williams Tunnel collapsed on her, paying off the family of that other lady who got killed when an I-90 connector tunnel collapsed, and general typical bureaucratic sheer incompetence. But hey, it'll be really cool when we can ride bikes on top of the highway (before it collapses and kills more people)!

The ad sums it up pretty nicely, so good find.
