Israeli TV tries to make a point, hilarity ensues. Also, Norway sucks.

Apparently the Israeli doesnt like us and TV channel Latma (I assume, cant find any information about it in english) have made a video to show their disgust. It features a catchy Abba song, poor greenscreen skills and interesting double standards.

Did I get it right, they sold their share of some Israeli company because they had something to do with the fence?

Basically the Israeli goverment and certain political groups in Israel is annoyed with the Swedish goverment because of their neutral stance regarding an article printed in newspaper Aftonbladet in august.

The Swedish goverment on their hand have time after time repeated that it is expressively forbidden by the constitution to have any opinion on what is published in the press. Latma argues that Israel is being treated unfairly as later Prime Minister Reinfeldt voiced his concern regarding the Mohammed-caricatures at the time of their publication. What Latma have failed to realize is that Reinfeldt at the time was not Prime Minister, nor had he any official assignments. He was simply the leader of a political party and could say whatever the hell he wanted.

Then as now, the people and the goverment fully support the rights of the press to print whatever they want, be it debates about the conduct of the Israeli occupation forces or caricatures of Mohammed.

What I find amusing is that they accuse us of racism with a video that has a very questionable (at best) depiction of "Muslimen".

No I think it is not racism but anti-semitism (Antisemitism (also spelled anti-Semitism) is prejudice against or hostility towards people that practice the Jewish religion), when the target is Jews.

And I agree they do not appear to be totally free from racism themselves.

I do hope this was irony, if it was not, it's surtanly as stupid as someone who sticks a candle up their arse to see if it fits.

Now, the Norwegian finance minister Kristin Halvorsen decieded to ask the Norwegian Pension fund ethics committee to do a check on Israeli companies getting investment from the Pension Fund (also known as the Oil Fund, we own 1 % of the world, whack-a-diddle-a-doo). In their review, they did find one company which sells surveilance parts to the wall/fence/whatnot. As Norway is in clear oposition to the wall/fence/whatnot, it's do make sense that we don't invest in it.

As for it being a fence/wall/whatnot, I'd like to add that when I visited the West Bank back in march, there were pretty big walls. That said, there are a LOT more fence than walls. But what's quite interesting is that wherever you see wall, you see what's left of the fence that used to be there. So, while it is not a complete wall as we speak, they are quite surtanly building it.

Now to the anti-semittism. First of all, I recent any attempt to paint Norway as an anti-semittic country. We are not. We do opose illegal occupation of the palestinian terretories, not to mention the de facto ethnic cleansing of Jerusalem, not to mention the illegal settlements on occupied terretories. That does not make us anti-semittic, it makes us oponents of political policy. I've lived all my life in Norway, and I have never ever heard anyone talk about jews poisining wells and stuff like that. I have jewish friends, and I couldn't give a rat's ass about what etnicity somone has.

A year ago, I visited the cemetary in Srebrenica, in Bosnia. When it started to grow on me that each and every name and headstone represented a human being, a became furious. I've never before and never since been so pissed off at everything. But I wasn't pissed of a Serbs, at Bosniacs, at Croats. I was pissed at people. Cause people do stuff, and invent ethnicity and religion to justify their acts.

What's my point? I DON'T GIVE A RAT'S ASS ABOUT WHAT ETHNICITY YOU ARE!

There are people in Norway who deny holocaust, they are generally speaking neo-nazis, and you'll find those in most countries, heck, you'll fiend JEWISH neo-nazis i Israel for fucks sake.

But what I recent most, is that during WW2, my grandfather spent three years in a German consentration camp for stealing back a bag of potatoes from the German occupiers of Norway, and it's a DISGRACE when Israel tries to patethicly justify their own wrongs by using the suffering and deaths of millions of innocent people.

That is despicable! And I can only hope that this sentiment of silly minds will die off quickly and swiftly.

And for fucks sake.. Avigor Lieberman was born in Moldova, he's lived in Israel for 31 years, and he's talking about throwing out Israel's arabs, who have lived there for CENTURIES!

I sat beside one of those, an American, on my flight from Ben Gurion. By the weiling wall, we was confronted by a woman who promised us that sometime in the future every jew would have 3218 slaves, and we would all be one of them. And just you try to photograph an ultra-ortodox jew in the ortodox quarter. Chances are, you'll be seriously assaulted.

But none-the-less, most Israelis are funny, witty, great people. So are most arabs.

Then Mahmoud Abbas will declear a Palestinian state, and he will have a very concrete Casus Belli against Israel. And Israel will consider it a Casus Belli, and with some thousands Israeli soldiers in the occupied lands, and Israel still being the biggest millitary power in the region, it won't work. Israel will attack the new state, and the arabs in Israel won't like that one bit, same goes for the islamists in Egypt, the islamists in the arab penicula won't like it, Hamas will REALLY not like it and we'll have a big war.

Need to get an agreement before a new state is decleared. The big issue of 1948 was the UN dictating what was going to happen, and Israel declearing itself an independant state without having one word with the other party. It's no wonder the arabs were pissed in May 14th 1948, they were not asked.

I know lots of religious people who's not crazy. Our local priest, to mention one, is a really nice guy who's as lovable as a cuddly teddy bear.

On the other hand, I've met crazy christians, crazy jews, crazy muslims and even one crazy hindu, and hindus are REALLY not that common in Norway.

But most are reasonable on most issues, most of the time.
