Well, you could show them a picture of a Mustang. On the other hand, you could show them a picture of an AMC Pacer. images/smilies/wacko.gif

If you call the Pacer a cool car, I will come over to North Cali, with a bottle of frozen cola (hehey!) and hit you in the face. images/smilies/tongue.gif

No seriousity intended.

The Gremlin was cooler though. You could get a V8 in it.

It doesn't matter, it's still a f*cking piece of s*it, looking like a dog poo, with the most stupid name in the entire known universe. I'd rather stick a big bottle of cola into my anal cavity than buy a Pacer.

Hey, it's an AMC; they where all wierd. And who wouldn't want a tiny little car that you could stick a great big V8 in? It's way better than one of those old school viking boats or whatever you guys rock up there anyway images/smilies/lol.gif .

I'll have you know that we made a rear engined car made out of plastic as early as the 50s, while your plastic car still had the engine in the front, and your Corvair, which many of you Americans have stated to have a rear engine before Porsche (thinking of the 911, forgetting the 356, not to forget the Beetle images/smilies/tongue.gif), was actually the second, or third, or fourth car to have one.

Eat that America! images/smilies/tongue.gif

And the long boats were great. I challenge you to build a boat out of timber, using hand tools, that can sail across the Atlantic, while navigating after the stars! images/smilies/tongue.gif

We were completely bad ass, and you better belive it! images/smilies/tongue.gif

Lol, the whole "sailing across the Atlantic" thing is pure speculation. I'll go build a supercharged big-block powered jet boat with my hand tools, because that's the American way; we'll take your idea, then make it haul ass and guzzle gas images/smilies/biggrin.gif.

A little more on topic, I used to keep a big Mag-Lite in my car. That thing was great. A light, hammer and self-defense tool all in one simple water and shock proof package. It wasn't fire proof though lol. Car fire killed mine. Come to think of it, the case was still okay, maybe it could have been rebuilt...

I bet if you replaced the lens, reflector and checked the wiring it would have been A-OK.

maglights FTW!. I even know a guy who rolled his fenders with a maglight :LMAO:

Pff. We still are. We can survive driving in snow, you don't. We have Hans Willhelm Steinfeldt. Who is Steinfeldt? He's an foreign correspondant, in 1991, he was the only western journalist in Vilinius, and every single western media bought his reports. images/smilies/tongue.gif

Not at all, there has been found proof of Viking settlements in Northern America. images/smilies/smile.gif And most boats use outboards, right? We invented those. images/smilies/wink.gif

I love Maglites, they rule.

There is snow in California. Go a little outside Los Angeles and you will find mountains with snow on them.

Aren't schools closed when snow starts falling, at least in some parts? images/smilies/tongue.gif

The only time the school has been CLOSED because of weather, to my memory, I was in the sixth grade, and a couple of kids blew under the school bus, and straight through. images/smilies/tongue.gif

Female friend of mine was in the US of A as an exchange student, they had wind we would define as "a slight breeze", and all studends were hearded into the hallways and told to sit down. images/smilies/tongue.gif

lol not here! The only way schools and such are closed is if there is a blizzard and plows can't clear the roads. if school buses can make it to and from school they don't close.

It's sort of a local joke. it seems every time a bit of precipitation falls out here the people blocking up the lanes are from california, so everyone curses and the "damned californian idiots" for holding up traffic.

either that or they have some stupid SUV and think AWD makes it ok for them to drive 90MPH in the snow and cause accidents.

The only reason my school in Orlando shut down was for hurricane warnings and bomb scares.

To be honest, I have no idea, but she told me it wasn't tornado warning, and if it was, she is 19 years old, speaks excelent English, so I guess she would understand quite a simple sentence such as "there's a tornado comming" or something. images/smilies/tongue.gif

Nope, why should we? Just pull the fire alarm. Err, didn't work in my primary school. Fire drill consisted of sitting in the classroom, teacher looking at his watch, finding it to be 1200, told us the fire alarm was going off, and we had to go out. Well. Please keep in mind, he TOLD us, and that is because we didn't have a fire alarm. images/smilies/whistling.gif

As for the fire alarm thing, we got a fire alarm in todays test. Subject was religion, theme was secular ideologies, for my part. Wrote an essay about the way inwhich marxist-leninism has succeeded versus the way national socialism did in Germany.

Came to the conclution that communism doesn't work, while national socialism works, while we don't want it to work.

Sadly, I was done when the alarm struck.
