Australia must have some sort of sanity with this kind of thing - I've never had any trouble with a camera around here.

No prizes to the first Australian to come up with an opposing proof, though!

I think they called it the 'Patriot' act to basically force representatives to vote for it. Joe Schmo citizen wouldn't be too happy if he found out his government official voted against something with patriot in the name, even though he knows nothing about the act and that's its the exact opposite of what it sounds like it should be.

I've got a game texture class right now and in the course textbook it tells you to be careful when taking reference photos because you might be arrested for taking pictures of buildings, on the suspicion of being a terrorist. The guy that wrote the book said it almost happened to him twice, where the police wanted to take his camera away from him.

It says it was published in 2004 but the game engines it uses are all out dated now, of course they can't teach up-to-date stuff because that would be to useful. images/smilies/lol.gif

I wanted to use the new Unreal Engine 3 for the project but oh no, no one is allowed to use up-to-date stuff because some people might be living four years behind with UT2004. images/smilies/lol.gif

Bush and friends rammed it through in the wave of "patriotism" right after 9/11. I'm sure most representatives knew exactly what they were voting for, and I'm sure at least some of them didn't like it. They did it for the same reason they later voted for Iraq, because if they didn't they knew they'd get Karl Rove's foot up their ass when they went for re-election. The whole thing just pisses me off.
