Default Massachusetts gas tax hike and possible car tracking tax.

The state would work to implement a pay-per-mile system by 2014 to eliminate tolls inside of Route 128. Officials would track auto use through a chip inside the state’s vehicle inspection sticker. Drivers could get a gas tax refund to avoid double billing.
Came across this, thought is was interesting. I don't see how this would work because if you leave that state would they still be charging you for miles driven? I'm not exactly comfortable with having ANYONE tracking what I'm doing involuntarily.

They've been doing similar things though, there are sensors buried in the ground under the road and when a car goes over it the sensor is triggered, this is how the total number of cars on the road are figured. This is taking that idea to a whole new level and it will probably result in a horrible mess because you'll be tracked and taxed when outside the state and big brother will know where you've gone, how long did it take to get there(I.E. knowing whether you were speeding or not).

So... it's basically a state-mandated EZ-Pass system... I don't see much change in from what they do now if they just put sensors at the entrances and exits to the highway. As long as they don't start aggressively tolling side roads...

Step 1 - go to Goodwill or WalMart and get a cheap microwave
Step 2 - take it apart to get the Magnetron and zap the chip with it for a couple seconds.
Step 3 - Profit.

Or, if it works like an EZ pass, just put a coating on the glass that will reflect the signal back. But I have to say, your idea has more style images/smilies/lol.gif

Im no scientist, but wouldn't putting the sticker in a led box restrict the signal?
