Police reports show that three men arrested in a Phoenix home invasion and homicide Monday may have been active members of the Mexican Army.

While on the J.D. Hayworth show, Phoenix Law Enforcement Association President Mark Spencer said that the men involved were hired by drug cartels to perform home invasions and assassinations.

The Monday morning incident at 8329 W. Cypress St. resulted in the death of the homeowner. Between 50 and 100 rounds were fired at the house.

Spencer said a police officer told him that one of the men captured said they were completely prepared to ambush Phoenix police, but ran out of ammunition.

He added that all were all dressed in military tactical gear and were armed with AR-15 assault rifles. Three other men involved in the invasion escaped.

However, Phoenix Police have not confirmed the men were Mexican Army members.

Sgt. Joel Tranter said one suspect revealed that he had "prior military training," but "no credible evidence" that any of them were active in the military.

No surprises here, it's been known for the longest time that many if not most of the narcotrafficers involved in in the Mexican drug cartels use former military personel and sometimes active military personel (the latter acting by their own volition). Many have been trained here in the US courtesy of the School of the Americas.

The School of the Americas has been criticized for the participation in human rights violations by some of its graduates. Critics argue that the education encouraged such practices and that this continues in the WHINSEC.

According to the Center for International Policy, "The School of the Americas had been questioned for years, as it trained many military personnel before and during the years of the "national security doctrine" -- the dirty war years in the Southern Cone and the civil war years in Central America -- in which Latin American militaries ruled or had disproportionate government influence and committed serious human rights violations. Training manuals used at the SOA and elsewhere from the early 1980s through 1991 promoted techniques that violated human rights and democratic standards. SOA and WHINSEC graduates continue to surface in news reports regarding both current human rights cases and new reports.

"Between 1946 and 2001, the SOA trained more than 61,000 Latin American soldiers and policemen. Some of them became famous for having been responsible of human rights violations, such as generals Leopoldo Galtieri or Manuel Noriega, dictators such as Bolivia's Hugo Banzer as well as some of Augusto Pinochet's officers. The terrorist Luis Posada Carriles was educated here by 1961, although he never graduated

Extraordinary rendition is not unique to this administration nor is it unique to the United States. The fact that use increased during a multinational struggle does not make it any less effective. It has been found that nations privately have been complicit in the rendition process and compartmentalized its knowledge.

Considering that as late as April 2008 a former SS officer is being prosecuted; it is a current event. The application of this to the current event is appropriate although your implication that I stated "Germans hate Jews" is not. The Israelis did you a favor by committing to a policy of extraordinary rendition and removing Nazis that would have been an obstacle to your nations legitimacy.

The argument would have been much different if you were say Panamanian, where the United States removed its executive. The inference that bringing up other instances of extraordinary rendition is ridiculous, is "poorly formed." Considering that it was you who brought up rendition you should be open to the debate.

Rather if you brought up, for example, a time that the mafia from Denmark hired former Danish Army trained killers to drive over into Hamburg kill a citizen then prepare to kill officer of the law AND the people of your nation responded differently then ours you would be on topic.

Gee, do I count as a normal American?
