Default Political Histrory: Global Cooling?

Just wondering what ever happened to that theory, and more importantly if it ever got as severe as the current Global Warming thing has. Everyday now i get more terrified, not by the possibility of Global Warming, but by the suggestions of those who support the "evidence" for it, and their idea for taking action on it. It seems that only more and more i hear somebody who says "I wish gas was 5 dollars a gallon" and i about want to throw hot coffee on them because they seem to have no idea what the implications on the poor and middle class are with something like that. Hell even at $3 a Gallon i know numerous people who have had to cut-back on many things, I for one had to cut back on my college classes 2 fold.

Usually I would have just made this a reply in the "Sue Al Gore" thread, but I'm genuinely interested in knowing how bad it got when everybody was worried about Global Cooling.

I think people will get over global warming just as they got over global cooling.

Here is one of my favorite things to show global warming people.

global warmimg is too controversial to take intro consideration, i think that yes it may be a factor, but i cannot wonder if co2 alone is the major cause of global warming.

Most scientists believe that we will see a cooling period this year.

The climate was perceivably cooling until 1984 from the early baby boomers period.

I remember teachers trying to pour this bullshit over eyes and make us "reduce, reuse, recycle". If they only had a slick marketing concept rather than just a tag line. Oh to be green, to be carbon natural, to be eco-friendly then everyone would like me.

Back in the day ('93) when we thought the earth was cooling there was a big blizzard in my home town. Sure enough it was used as proof that the earth was heading for a new ice age.

The only reason why this scare is more visible is marketers have found a fear that they can cash in on. Women fear for their kids future so you have to buy GREEN products to fight that fear. Look if you want to calculate your carbon footprint, if this was science you would get the same answer from every website, every number produced is different. Sense the science is so murky no can dispute it and if you do people say your unkind. It is just a tool for advertisers, marketers, companies, governments to control you.
