I love this idea that as long as you just ban anything that has a bad influence on people, everything will be allright.

While were on this topic, why is it, that some chick accidentaly loosing her tit on live telly during the superbowl leads to a fine for the station? Not like they could really have done too much about it. And not that it's that bad to begin.

In Norway, even the State Broadcaster has no need to cencor nudity if it's okay to allow it. Full frontal, if that's part of the humor and so on. Not like it has led to more teenage pregnancy.

I would just like to point out the the FCC's mandate is to manage broadcast frequencies, not content. They have actually been acting in violation of a supreme court ruling for years by levying fines and editing content.

Just throwing that out there.

Exactly! I really don't see what the big deal about it is. And now if we lose our violence we'll have nothing left!

It isn't a big deal, it's just stupid people talking about moral and shit like that. Naked tits isn't immoral. It might be out of taste in some cases, but in the end, moral is different from person to person, and it really shouldn't be up to a very small minority to impose their moral on others. It shouldn't be up the majority either. It's different with murder and stealing, most do agree that's wrong, but there is no immortal norm, that says tits are immoral.

That's a good theory, one that I wish was true. "By the people, for the people" has given way to "by small groups, for what small groups want". Polices are what run the country now, not votes. If a committee decides violence is bad for the public, they will take it away. There really isn't much the average citizen can do about it at that point.

Yes, sadly. The world is ruled by people with high and holy morals, who think everything will get much better if we all dress in grey clothes and think of nothing else than work.

actually there is a lot citizens can do, because those people that form those groups are just citizens as well. All you need to do is get your ideas out there and get people agreeing with them and that sort of thing happens all the time. You don't need money or influence or whatever, although those certainly do help, but you don't need them. You can fight to get things on the ballot just like any special group can.
