Default Stephen Colbert at the White House Correspondents' Dinner

images/smilies/lol.gif

If you guys havn't seen the Colbert Report, you are seriously missing out. Anyway, he apparently spoke at the White House Correspondents' dinner, and basically did his routine in front of all the people he satirises and lampoons on a daily basis.

LOL...yeah. I saw it live. He didn't get many laughs from the crowd though, even though the material was funny.

When he played the video he did, c-span had it on full screen throughout...MSNBC had it split screen so you could see the video and the reaction of Bush. He didn't seem all too happy LOL.

I've heard some on the news, and read some articles....quite a few people didn't find Colbert funny. Maybe they think he was too biting and didn't know his audience. I think he did what he always does, and glad he didn't conform to the WHPC audience.

I don't think the people who hired him exactly knew what his shtick was.

I prefer John Stewart myself, but he's still pretty funny.

As do I, but Colbert has gotten really good as his show goes on. In the begining it was a bit shakey... stuttering on words and borderline funny jokes. But now, it's definitly worth watching images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

As for his show at the Dinner... Ballstastic.

Agreed, John Steward is better in my book, but this gig was fantastic piece of work.
