Default U.S., India Reach Agreement on Nuke Deal

Quote:
Under the accord, the United States would share American nuclear know-how and fuel with India to help power its fast-growing economy, even though India won't sign the international nonproliferation treaty.

Hey! I'm sure that won't come back to bite them on the ass in 10-15 years! images/smilies/sad.gif

It's not like they have ever done that before and suddenly their "friends" have turned against them! images/smilies/lol.gif

Wow, uh, yeah. I swear the US government actually uses a Magic 8 Ball to make its important decisions.

"Oh Magic 8 Ball, should we give Iran nuclear technology?"

"ALL SIGNS POINT TO YES"

"Well, alright then. Job done!"

Hmm, mixed feelings. Nuclear power is whithout a doubt the way to go, I just wish the greenies would get that thru thier head over here. It depends on what type of reactor design and what type of fuel we give them, but India has had nukes for some time now either way. Perhaps this is a stepping stone to help us get out of China?

I don't doubt that there are some huge benefits to this deal. But it sets a dangerous precedent, the u.s. should have used its power to have india sign the NPT.

If India signs we'll also need to get Pakistan to sign as well. Don't forget the whole reason they have nukes is to kill each other.

Apparently, China illegally transferred its nuke and missile technology to Pakistan. That waS the beginning of Pakistan's nukes. China still supplies them with tech know hows regularly.
So for the US one way of balancing the china equation is having india join the party. To do this , US has "recognised" India's nuke tech.
