^well... you're saying that these kids are suppose to sprint after a moving vehicle for more than a minute when they don't even have enough food and water to begin with? I'm sorry, I must have misread your post but yes, everyone likes bashing america with any ammunition they can get, but I think they do deserve a bashing after what they have done as a whole (Not just this video, but all the ones that have surfaced)

How do we know those kids were starving and needed water? How many other people were chasing the truck wanting water? None. Most of the kids barely ran for 30 seconds before giving up.
As far as the Iraq war goes. I doubt there is another army on Earth that could do it without incidents like this. Even British soldiers have been caught on tape doing stupid things.

I'd like to think what those soldiers were doing were just a one off lapse in common decency. Afterall, they have gone through alot and witnessed some terrible thing and for those few minutes, they might have forgotten what is the right way to act.
I'm not defending what they did - I just think maybe there was a reason why they did it other than just being really wrong. |

Yeah SL65, because they are fucking stupid. How is this funny? Even if you're Mother Teresa it doesn't mean you should get away with shit like this and expect not to even be critcized for it. They're serving America, so they should get a break when they try to mess with Iraqi kids? That doesn't add up...

First of all, those kids didn't have to chase the truck if they didn't want to. A lot of kids find it "fun", I'm not kidding you. Also, soldiers give out a lot of toys and things to children so they are often chased by kids wanting whatever they can have, this is common.
In every war in recorded history local children have had a fascination with soldiers and bothered them as much as they dared. so think before you go ranting and raving about how horrible the US is because some soldier "made" some "starving and dehydrated children" chase a truck for water, when you actually have NO FUCKING CLUE. |

Well you obviously do have a fucking clue, don't you? Listen to the guys, they are obviously enjoying seeing these kids run way too much. They made them run like 25 blocks... "You want some water? Yeah, keep running." Why is he so careful to make sure that his friend is getting it on camera? They are obviously doing this for shits and giggles and that's ain't cool.
I'm not saying they should get a court martial, but it's still not something to defend. TomCat accuses us of jumping on the bandwagon, whereas if anyone ever says anything against US policies you interpret it to be nothing but a bunch of liberal propaganda for people who think politics is all fun and games and for people who don't realize that you need to "get 'er done" by getting down and dirty and going to war. Maybe they wouldn't have chased the water if they didn't desperately need it?

When the heck did everyone suddenly decide that the children are starving and thirsty? That's country's not exactly Ethiopia for crying out loud.
I agree with Zenki, children always follow in the wake of soldiers and tanks - shit, if I were young and tanks rolled through my town, I'd follow them for fun. Something to do on a boring day. Last edited by BerserkerCatSplat; November 22nd, 2006 at 7:18 AM. |

I think most of you are seriously over-reacting. if the kids were so malnurished could the run that far? why wouldn't they stop and maybe, use a fucking sink? How about the fact that the soldier GAVE HIS FUCKING WATER AWAY? it's not like they were making a food drop or something and taunted people with it. kids chase the trucks ALL THE TIME. Soldiers hand out things ALL THE TIME, and they are mobbed and chased for it. That's just what happens. Where's the fucking gun to thier heads huh? How come no adults are running if they are all so desperately partched? this is a short clip and given that the european force is so small, I doubt many of you know any soldiers who have been stationed there, so all of what you know comes down thru the telly and whatever rags you read. so no, most of you have no idea at all. |

As far as I'm concerned, we don't know anything. You can't tell me why those kids were chasing the truck.
I think the reason I'm being outspoken about this is because it pisses me off. It probably pisses me off more then it pisses any of you off. I wouldn't be surprised if some of you wet your pants at shit like this. Just more fuel for the fire. This stuff pisses me off so much because I have multiple friends and family who were in, are in, and are going to be in Iraq and I can't stand it when stuff like this happens. Maybe the kids really wanted water or maybe they really just wanted a hand out. Either way, vids like this do nothing for the true reputation of the Armed forces and its a damn shame people make these vids, cut them to length, and then use them to slander whole groups of people. It's a fucking bandwagon. If you can't see past the obvious intentions of the person who choose this 60 seconds of footage for this clip to post on the Internet, and think rationally about exactly what is going on and what could be going on, then you're just another passenger. And that is all I have to say about it. I don't like it, none of it.

Wow, I'm almost lost for words. Retards clearly have no respect for the uniform, their fellow soldiers, the country they represent, or the country they're serving in.

I fail to see how this incident is really that huge of a deal. I mean damn, there has been thousands of deaths and injuries and destruction and you are worrying about one soldier who didn't give some water out. Who in the hell cares? I know most of you don't understand actual combat but I suggest you enlighten yourselfs. There is rarely any honor in combat. It is dirty, dangerous, and sometimes disgusting work. That is the reality of combat and it has always been the reality of combat. So you guys better buck up a tad and get real. Try researching your own country's combat history, you may be suprised. Britain invented the concentration camp during the Boer war and that's just the start.

some armys fight with honour, look at the Canadians in Afghanistan, they don't do shit like what the americans are doing in iraq. Candians here are very frustrated over the war, and the majority would like the army to come back from Afghanistan, but you don't see the soldiers fucking around over there. So to the people who said war is always dirty and whatnot and nothing is clean about it, am not saying soldiers should be the most humane people on earth, tespecially when their job is to kill, but in the Iraq case, its not really a war. they're patrolling areas securing areas, gives them no reason to treat locals like animals what so ever. if they wanna treat people like shit, capture all the insurgents and fuck around with them. Everytime I hear stories about what american soldiers are doing over there, my blood just starts boiling, its not right on any standard.
whats fucked up is that, those scumbags have families that think they're heros. and if one of those scumbags in the video gets killed, they're probably film his family crying and shit like an angel just got killed.
