Been lurking here for quite some time, finally decided to sign up
![]() I've had this truck for a little over 2 years now, and its changed quite a bit since the day I bought it.... Just for kicks, here is a picture of it shortly after I bought the truck. ![]() It didn't take long before the 80's graphics were removed from the sides of the truck, the topper removed and bigger tires were put under it. ![]() And its first off road adventure was in a muddy gravel pit... Not the kind of off roading I am into really, I prefer rocks and trails. ![]() The bigger tires I had for the truck were not ment for road use, so I picked up a used set of tires for the street. Also I cut out the wheel wells for the larger tires. ![]() The paint job was holding up well on the cab of the truck. But the bed had lost its clear coat. Also replaced the front passenger fender. ![]() Before I did any serious off road trips with this truck, I wanted to get some rock sliders to protect the sides of the body from rocks and trees. ![]() However they only provide so much protection... ![]() ![]() Went with a two tone paint job... ![]() On one of my off road trips I slightly tweaked the front bumper. So I decided it was time to build a new one. ![]() ![]() And now the most recent work. I picked up a new bed for the truck that wasn't rusty or dented. And I decided to cut 12 inches out of the length of it. This also gave me a good excuse to make a new rear bumper that looked better. ![]() ![]() ![]() After painting everything and finishing the body work, I took it to the trails and dented the new bed ![]() ![]() ![]() I might post up some pictures of the trails I take it on later. |

That's a heck of a setup! Does shortening the bed really make a big difference? I know it improves the departure angle, but it seems like it was already pretty good.

Thanks Steve, I had a few reasons to shorten it. 1 being that it was 12 inches less bed to navigate around trees, which made a huge difference on the trails.... But the last trail we went on, was just to tight. The other was so I could get out of helping people move junk

Nice truck! I'm going to order my rock sliders and a rear locker pretty soon.

Good to see another 4X4er here. Same model as mine by the look apart from the wagon body and the diesel engine. What size and brand are those tires? They'd have to be at least 33's

Thanks, the street tires are Bridgestone dueler AT tires, and the trail tires are Interco super swamper TSL's. Both sets are 33x12.5R15's.
