Yeah this is my new car that I just picked up yesterday. Before anyone plays the spoiled kid card, I worked my ass off this year and part of last year to get about 5 grand. At first I was looking at a s14 240sx, but my parents said it looked to unsafe so I couldn't get it. They then told me that I they would give me about 2k to help me out. So I started to think of a rwd car that had or could be easily modified to have about 250 hp or higher. I thought about a turbo miata but my parents also said no. I then thought about a Camaro but my uncle said hell no. Later that week my parents came back to me and told me that the Camaro actually seemed relatively safe and I could think about getting one.
One day I was looking at a 98' Z28 Camaros with 100k miles on it on craigslist when I accidentally clicked on a link to a 2000 Camaro SS with 58k miles on it. My aunt saw it and asked why I didn't want that one. I told her even though it was a super good deal, it was 9800 dollars. I had eventually gave up looking for camaros for the week when my aunt came back to me and asked me how good of a deal was it. I told her that I saw that same car with 110k miles going for 11 grand. The next day she said that she would lend me more money if I promised to get a job and pay for half the insurance. I of coursed jumped on this offer after I found out that the insurance was only 900 dollars for 6 months. So here it is! I think I will name her Betsy! lol She's got a complete Bassani exhaust system already installed, along with a Hurst short shifter, and a "built rear end" whatever that means. The original owner also installed some really cheesy rims. ![]() ![]() ![]() EDIT: I might as well not say anything because I know this is going to turn into a spoiled rich kid who is gonna kill him self with his car thread, but please don't. I know this car is a powerful car and I'm not an idiot driver. |

Looks pretty sharp.
Don't kill yourself now. (And wear protection! You are a high school kid driving a Camaro, after all. )

Your parents said no to a Miata and said yes to a V8 (assuming) Camaro. Awesome.

Great car!
Not so fond of the rims but you don't seem to like them very much either, so I expect them to be on the list of things to replace when you gain some money back

Those wheels are absolutely ghastly. You need to get widened steel wheels, but for the meantime, just paint the current ones black. The car also needs a drop and more power
![]() EDIT: Oh, and hii those headlights with some t-cut! Too bad you'll only be arond to enjoy it for a week or 2 ![]() EDIT: Just noticed that you are 16 years old, make that a day or 2

Not bad at all. That insurance is pure rape though.
If it's a Z28 or SS then it has the LS1 under the hood, which means how fast he wants to go is only limited by the size of his wallet.

Car is awesome, congrats, but wtf at the wheels. Cheesy doesn't even begin to describe it.
Oh well, enjoy! I knew someone with just the basic V6 Camaro of that gen and it was a lot of fun. |

Sweet car, and if it really does have a built rear end then that thing will take in a lot of power.

lol the guy knew nothing about his car, I think what he means by "built rear end" is an aftermarket rear sway bar. This is a SS so yes is does have the LS1 engine. Actually the insurance isn't bad at all 1600 per year. So each 6 months I have to pay half the insurance so it comes to 400 for each 6 months, or if I want to I can pay 800 dollars a year.

You should be able to sell those wheels for a good price and quickly. There are a lot of tasteless wheel buyers out there. Just remember to put in your ad somethin along the lines of this:
20 INCH BLING BLING CHROMEZ WHEELZ YO NOS TURBOZ Of course if they're bigger you might want to go with DUBS or DUBZZ etc. Z's are key here. If they aren't at least 20s dont' specify size or you can just lie, whichever.
