I can totally afford the 2 door rabbit, but test driving a manual is out of the question. Damnit
I'll go test drive an auto and see how it handles. p:

![]() Ok so the body shop and or estimator are fuck ups. I was super happy about hearing my car was ready to be picked up too. I'm too lazy to retype what happened so I'm copying what I wrote on the SL forum Quote:
Oh, on top of that... I turned in my rental car thinking everything would be ok.

Do I ever know the feeling. The stupid shop put my headlight in upsidown somehow and lost my license plate! I really wish the stupid insurance people would let you choose the shop instead of use their special people shop.

Here in Portugal we just got that car branded as a Toyota and named Urban Cruiser. I've went to see it and TD it and didn't like it at all. Looks like an inflated Toyota Yaris assembled with bad materials inside.

What insurance do you have and did they dictate the body shop? A friend of my families owns a body shop and he says AutoOwners is the best insurance company by far. They just come in, ask what it'll take and write a check, no haggling or checkups, he loves them. I'm happy with my State Farm now, but if I ever switch I'm going to Auto Owners.
Also, chrome valve stem caps

Why didn't we get the Scion tC here, branded as an Avensis Coupé or something? Surely somebody would've bought them.
Toyota still sucks for canceling the sporty models like MR2 and Celica. |

I would, but I'm concerned with how much they (a dealer) will offer me for it seeing as how it was in an accident, that's the only thing that is worrying me. I owe 9500, car is worth $15k stock, so I want at LEAST $5k for my car when traded in, if not $6k with the things in it (minus headunit).
K boys, time for you to help me! Find me some cars, sold in America , that are under $22k and new. It MUST be able to take a Pioneer AVIC F700bt, that is my only condition. Manuals are ok, hatchbacks are preferred but not necessary, more than 120hp uhm... I think that's about it. I'll consider used but only if I can get it from a dealer, so don't worry about that. Also, factor in what you know about maintenance costs for the cars. I know VW is on the pricey side so they're iffy right now.

A FWD Suzuki SX4 would certainly be a bit different and unexpected; the AWD version would be perfect in a Boston city car, but close to pointless in SoCal. Other than that, can't think of any car in that price range that is remotely near interesting. Hmm, that was a slightly useless post

I was going to say that Mazda MX-5's start at $22k brand new. And you could probably find second hand models at any Mazda dealership for much less, but if you ask me, the 2010 models are much better looking. Having a RWD roadster in Southern California wouldn't be too bad. If not, you could easily get a Mazda3 in that price range. You may even find a second hand Mazdaspeed3 under $22k, since they start at $23k brand new.

Hrm.. a roadster... well... I have a dog so having 4 doors is a nice option for her crate in the back. 2-doors are iffy but I'd have to play around with them.
I was thinking:
I'd go for a used car if it had low mileage on it and was fairly recent in years, 2008+. I'm picky.. I know.

You can also afford a 2007 or 2008 VW Golf GTI with the DSG transmission, something I would definitely take over a normal Rabbit

Orly? A Golf GTI would be fun but maintenance on that would be pricey I would think.
Mazdaspeed3's are actually hard to find, I've looked. O.o [edit] Nevermind, finding a few in my area but still not that many. Hrmm.. a speed3... hrm... Last edited by ChelsDS; June 11th, 2009 at 2:33 AM. |

A GTi or MPS would be a lot more fun and worth much more when it comes to resale value. But with that bump in performance, you'll also have to deal with higher ownership costs. It just depends on how important performance is to you; if it's worth your money.

Performance isn't a major factor
Reliability, maintenance costs, miles per gallon and functionality are the big priorities.I just checked with some of the Mazdaspeed3's in my area, would I be able to afford them used =\ Saaaad. Maybe a regular Mazda3 hatchback will do..
