You can pick up a second hand Golf V GTI for less than $18000

How bad was it hit?

Question time! I'm getting myself EBC Green Stuff brakes for my car, the shop I went to last time said they replace the brake fluids no matter what and I think I have 27k mi on my car, don't remember images/smilies/cry.gif

Would I be able to get away with just replacing the pads and holding off on the fluids or.. would it be best to get fluids replaced too? I wish there was a Haynes manual for Scions, but they have yet to make one period. images/smilies/mad.gif

I wouldn't worry about it. Shops like that probably don't bother with bleeding brakes. They have those sweet pumps that cycle fresh fluid through the whole system. It's a lot faster and easier for the shop and brake fluid ain't that expensive anyway.

What I've been driving the past week and a half

What it looks like as of yesterday

And sorta the obligatory shot my car with my sister who's visiting from Houston this week

Waiting to get my EBC Green Stuffs then I'll be feeling much safer about braking in traffic images/smilies/dry.gif

Hrm... It was $300.80 ( /images/smilies/blink.gif

) for the guy to put the vinyl on and then $6500 to repair the actual damaged areas of the car. So $6800-ish.

Very happy with the vinyl this time around. They took my bumper off and the vinyl guy fit it behind the bumper images/smilies/love.gif

Still have a strange scratchy sound when I accelerate, and when I lean down to the speaker in the door it gets louder.

Just gotta say that my dad hit a pedestrian that walked out of nowhere in the dark and it was misting outside, $3K worth of damage done by that guy.

Amazing how much a pedestrian can do to a car.

Scratchy sound from acceleration, hmm wonder what the problem is, probably something small or normal images/smilies/tongue.gif

Yeah, sound tends to get louder when you put your ear closer to the source. Does it on my car as well. images/smilies/tongue.gif

You'd think the dealer would be a good place to go, but they're not. I don't trust their techs at all. The techs are paid hourly and get incentives to push out a certain number of cars daily. When I can I'm going to have the body shop take the door panel off and look at how they put it back together.

Since I got my car back I noticed the tab to secure the wiper blade on the arm has popped out on occasion which I push back in to place. Today I had time to look at why it has started doing that. Apparently, for some odd reason, the tab that clips on to the actual arm was broken. How do I know this? I can see glue on the wiper blade housing where the hook is supposed to attach. Man, I've already filed a complaint with the BBB (Better Business Bureau), going to see what I can do through my insurance company. What else can I do to ream these guys? images/smilies/mad.gif
