Great car. Sounds amazing. Nice shifts for first starting out. Just a suggestion, but don't leave your foot over the clutch pedal. Just a little bit of pressure will ruin your clutch.

New taillights!
Sorta... they're not finsihed... but I got my lenses. It's a shame these are so expensive and so much work to put in the car, plus I couldn't get smoked black ones because Id idnt feel like getting pulled over all the time. But I still think they look rad as shit! And I dont have to worry about tinted clearcoat chipping off and how the oranges dont match the reds right and all that... which is how most people accomplish this look. It's even more work to do this the normal way. but this is the "right" way. This is new lenses made of plastic in the correct color... so they'll be just as durable and strong as the stock lenses. ![]() I think since they're still red, they wont be as noticeable. You'd have to have a keen eye to tell, but I think it will add to the look of the car a lot. I really dont like it when the car looks too noticably riced out... and this is subtle.

They're not required by law, plus I dont have them wired up anyway.
It will suck when I reverse in the dark, but I dont plan on doing that often. And like I said, they're not even wired up right now.

I didn't know that. I remember when I was passing inspection they asked me to put it in reverse to see if the lights were working. Is it just a Georgia thing?

I dont even ahve inspection where I live. Hence my crazy exhaust system. And in my opinion that's the way it should be. It's my car. If I get into an accident reversing into someone because of my reverse lights I will be the one at fault, I reap the consequences. I'm okay with that. I'm extremely careful with that stuff anyway, and this car is no longer appropriate for daily driver use. I mean when I get everything dialed in I could do that... but I dont feel comfortablew ith it yet. It's just too much car with too many non broken in parts and things that aren't quite right yet on it.

Okay, you are right about the reverse lights but otherwise...no inspection??? That sounds crazy.
Even the inspection in WV is pretty simple compared to the inspections in Europe. In WV they checked my brakes with a man with a flashlight...that's it! In Europe they actually measure your stopping force.

And they have inspection closer to Atlanta, but where I am there's nothing. These inspections and government ninnying are just money grabs on the part of the government, or on the part of whoever is their agent (and thus lobbied the government to be able to do them) for these inspections. And these are a few of the other color options: ![]() ![]() ![]() I would ahve gotten the black ones, but those are very illegal here in GA. You'll get a ticket for that.

![]() I think in the long term I'll end up with a 5.3L truck motor in this car... but that's whenever this motor dies, and hopefully it will last a very long time. Hopefully by that time I'll have the mony and tools to fab up a turbo setup. ![]() And my clutch is DEFINITELY slipping pretty bad. When I get the money a new clutch is gonna go in. Good thing I learned on a free crappy clutch though. Dont want to burn up a brand new clutch because Im a newbie. Also, I've got some kind of weird alternator issue. It's not charging at all. Replaced teh alternator, and I'm still not getting anything more than 12v across the battery posts while running. I'm gonna try something tomorrow to measure the voltage coming out of the alternator to see if I can source where the problem is... but I'm leaning towards an electrical issue somewhere, but every connection I've tried is okay. So who knows? My voltage gauge in the car is reading all the way to the left right now, though. Probably as far to the right as the gauge will go into the red zone, and you can clearly see in the vid where I'm driving around, the voltage is fine. I think this has something to do with the fact that I managed to screw up my fuse box the other day... I'm gonna have to investigate farther.
