Default FIRST CAR! And it's a good one!

Yeah, just went and bought a 1986 Ford Sierra 2.0is with a limited slip diff and a manual box.

The bodywork is in pretty good condition, apart from a small bit of accident damage (parking lot stuff) in the front right wing.

Will post pictures later. I can tell you that it was DIRT cheap, and it felt really nice on the test drive.

Can't be bothered to write more atm, since I'm chuffed to bits

That's actually really good! It's probably very suitable for RWD hoonage.

Some suggestions though:
1. Lose the towbar
2. Lose the tints
3. Lose the EU plates

Otherwise, it's a sound buy
What kind of km:s?

Will remove the tints/towbar eventually, but since I just bought it, and it's 20km's away, can't do it right now. Don't really care about whether it has Eu plates or not.

In older Fords, there is no way of telling how many km's the car has done, since the mileometer (kilometreometer?) only has 5 digits, so it goes around at 100k. And anyway, don't really care about the km's at this price range.

Why in the world would you ever want to take tints off a car???????
It's called an odometer

Congratulations dude it's a very nice ride. I don't know much about EU fords is it a turbo? Also can you swap the Cosworth engine in there? That would be epic

Very nice car. Keep the towbar. It will piss off the guy complaining about them in random thoughts.

It will also piss me off after I've put the car in a ditch in typical Finnish rally fashion, and I need something to tow it out from

How about you stick a huge MERKUR badge on the front?

These great ideas just keep coming, you know.

Its a Ford UK Sierra, its the *ahem* SPORT version, so it has the 2.0 injection 8valve ohc engine with around 120 bhp, so no turbo. Limited slip diff as standard.

You can do a straight swap for a cosworth engine, but since the pinto ohc engine (which I have) is great for turbocharging, there is no real need to throw 3000€ on a cossie engine. The Sierra was one of the last rwd uk fords (The Scorpio was the swan song), which is great when you think about the winters we have here

An example of the same engine as mine has, but with a holset hx:

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

The car in the Vid is a mk2 sedan, but the mechanicals are pretty much identical from mk1->mk2

I most likely won't end up turboing it, since I don't really have the know/how, or a place to do it in, but my car would be a perfect base for a turbo sierra.

Don't really have the money, the place, or the knowledge to turbo it, so I'll make due with the 120hp atleast for now. Would probably be a nice addition though

Edit:

What do you think, should I paint the *ahem* Alloys white? I think it could suit the car quite well..

What are the wheels Boberts?

I'd keep them as is, and fix the body up a bit. Ditch the tints they don't look that great.
