No chrome other stock here, plan on removing the fender molding and running boards, I hate both of those things. They may be mud tires, but they are nearly bald... images/smilies/lol.gif

Yeah, the rear bumper is all dinged up, I may replace it later with something made of heavy duty steel...

With a supercharger.

Some inspiration (The engine, not the car)

Imagine something like that sitting in your Toyota...(Yes, the one in there is probably NA, but you get the point)

Not sure that would be in my price range. I'd like to spend less than a grand to get this back together...

Whatever you do, before you put a salvage engine back in your truck, swap out the headgaskets. Make sure you install only the latest revisions from Toyota, because the original spec (which the aftermarket copied) is known to have problems. (The 3VZ-E is known to have headgasket issues, which the newer, thicker headgaskets are supposed to solve.

You do not want to install the engine only to find you have to do the headgaskets, because it's a royal pain in the arse in-situ.

No salvage around here had a good used engine, so I've started asking around on some local forums. The only car I've done a HG on so far is my Mustang, but a 2.3 is pretty easy as far as that goes...

Is the 2.3 an OHC or pushrod? EDIT: Wiki says it's OHC, so you'll have dealt with that already.
