My 1985 CJ7
This is my 1985 CJ7 that I've had for about 4 years.
It was my daily driver until I got my truck a few weeks ago. The mods I've done are: 1998 HO 4.0 engine out of a wrangler 2003 NV3550 5-spd gearbox out of a wrangler 4:56 gears f/r Detroit lockers f/r Custom Roll Cage 1" lift 33" BFGoodrich Muds Warn premium hubs (the stock ones are made of plastic  )Wrangler TJ fender flares Custom bumper and spare tire carrier Other stuff I don't remember Oh, and a really loud stereo  How it started  Gratuitous Action Shot  How it looks now (except the fenders are a bit wrinkled now)  And the this happened during the latest trip for your viewing enjoyment:

I don't have any recent shots of the truck, but here it is from a few years ago.
The only difference now is the tires.  I've got some more action shots on my computer of the Jeep, I just need to get around to uploading them.

Nice Jeep! My brother had a late 70's CJ7 for awhile, but never got around to modifying it. That thing was a beast to drive. Of course, my brother's Jeep didn't have brakes... which he didn't tell me... and I almost took out the gates at my apartment complex shortly after finding out.
You need more lift. Do they sell axle flip kits for your Jeep? You could probably get another couple inches of lift by that alone. Do prefer the nickname Winch or Weiner?

I've thought about doing more lift, and if I do it would only be a 1 or 2 inch body lift so I can tuck the t-case up and have a flat belly. I drive it quite a bit on the road, so I don't want it sky high.

I've found that body damage does the same thing. As you may have noticed in the video, the passenger side fender gets a bit scuffed. That damage along with the huge back bumper means that I never get cut off or tailgated, its great.

A couple buddies of mine had one when I used to live in Montana, we would take them into the mountain paths during early winter when the snow is still wet on the trails...and have a blast

As promised, here are some more action pics. Oh and before anybody says anything, I just got a new number plate that isn't in the pictures.
         That last picture is the aftermath of the video, note the mud on the side of the spare tire carrier and the mud stuck on the side of the top above the window opening. I later found 3 cracks in the hard top, one of which I had to repair and had to have the windows put back in. Enjoy

Sweet Jeep. I love CJ's. Do those tires rub at all when they are buried in teh fender? I'm hoping to get some sort of 'wheeling machine soon! Keep on Jeepin'!!!

Actually, only the front tires rub on the inner fenderwells. Otherwise there is no contact at the back. If I had any other tire size (those are oddballs at 33x10.50) then they would rub like mad everywhere.

I went out on my Jeep Clubs annual run to Barnwell Mountain just oustide of Glimer Texas last weekend. Here are some shots.
 First Obstacle  Putting the hammer down  A little Ravine  Farther in  The Top of Jeep Eater (thats the trail name)  Yay Leaf Springs  Taking a look before tackling this hill  Tackling the above hill  Nice shot of the area.  The bottom of Jerry Paul's Expressway  The middle of Jerry Paul's Expressway  The top of Jerry Paul's Expressway  Starting down, I think this was a trail called Saturday Night Live  Nice and Slow  That feels much worse in the Jeep  Walking up to check the obstacle at the top. This trail is called shake, rattle and roll. It was the hardest one we did, and it is rated 4/5 diamonds.  Approaching the hard bit  This is the last picture. After I got up past the tree with a bit of skinny pedal, I proceeded to nearly run over the camera man so he couldn't get any more pictures. Enjoy.
