Lucky bugger... that's one gorgeous car. I'm nearly 22 and I still don't own my own car, and you're 19 and you've got that! Me = jealous.

Doesn't the Integra have VTEC also?

Anyway, nice car Hidden. The interior looks sweet, and Honda/Acura have a great interface for the sat nav.

Good thing you got the old model, the new TSX is hideous. I dunno if the new Accord has the same disastrous grill:

I drive past a Mobil station regularly that has a lowered, black-tinted accord sitting outside - looks stunning. It would be a perfect saloon car if only it was RWD!

Have you got anything planned for it, Hunter, or you'll wait till warranty runs out first?

Our new accord euro is fucking ugly is the only way I can describe it, I could of gotten one of the newer models with less kit but a) i like a pretty much fully loaded car b) it's was cheaper - by a fairly substantial margin

That's the new one, personally I think it just looks like a fat version of the old one.

Warranty is 5 years with roadside so not really planning on doing anything (doesn't really need anything either)
The car really isn't any worse off for being fwd, you don't really notice it driving it (it's not like it has huge amounts of power, so no torque steer) just a wiff of understeer - it changes direction fantastically anyway.

I can't remember the percent tint I went but you can't see in the car unless you walk right up to it and peer in.

If you put them on hot they get uncomfortably hot within about 10 minutes.

Try it when it's 2deg...

First couple of times I tried them I thought the same - it just needs to be cold enough outside.

Despite the wagon having nearly 30% less trunk space with the seats down than the old wagon. The old wagon had a flat cargo floor, which the new one doesn't have. And a power hatch.
Old Accord: Great styling, great functionality, great chassis.
New Accord: neither.

Wise choice, man.

Oh my God....what is going on images/smilies/wacko.gif

Listen to you two comparing your heated seats. Wasn't all that long ago you would tough it out in your small, 2-door sports cars. And I respected that. And now this. Tsk tsk, fellas. Gettin' old are we, heheh.

Jokes aside - congrats on the purchase HH. Real happy for ya, you've got yourself an excellent car.

The biggest problem with the new Accord is not its looks (I actually quite like it!!), but its the car it replaces. The old Accord was still holding its own at the time of being replaced. The new one isn't a quantam leap forward like other manufactures have been making (Ford Mondeo, Mazda 6 etc).

I like the old Accord Euro. Its comfy, has a nice powerplant, well equipped and looks good. It also has what I think are the best headlamp projectors on the market. Top end Mercs, Bimmers could learn a thing or two...

I think the brakes are a bit grabby though. And the power steering a bit overactive. But thats based on limited experience with it.

So HH - talk us through the process you went through which led you to choose that Accord. I'm guessing price would've been a big factor, given the run out deals they're having. Did you consider that special edition model they had going a few months ago?

The runout price compared to what else you got new for that amount of money sealed the deal, I already knew it was an excellent car. The other main contender was the subaru liberty 2.5L and tbh it didn't drive as nicely despite its 4wd and the interior was considerably worse than the one in the accord.

Yeah I thought as much.

Should have gotten a Liberty though images/smilies/biggrin.gif Great cars they are! But just not as cheap at this point in time I guess.

Oh and I forgot to mention - I love heated seats images/smilies/mrgreen.gif 2 out of the 3 cars in this household have them. And I wish mine was one of them images/smilies/cry.gif Would help combat this freezing cold Sydney weather*

*The Europeans will yell at me if they know what I define as "freezing cold Sydney weather" haha...

That's a nice car, I really like that model of Accord, I agree that it actually looks better than the new model does, Looks like in dark grey (Not black, its clearly dark grey). A nice step up from your old car

I guess it's a matter of taste, but I whink the old one had perfect proportions (wheelbase a bit longer than the sedan...) and looked really hot with those horizontal taillights and little roof spoiler, while the new one looks... molten.

It didn't really come down to price that much, the accord simply was a better car than the 2.5L liberty images/smilies/tongue.gif (which is showing its age alot more than the accord does, the interior in perticular)

Fuel eco seems to be pretty good as well, I got it to about 7.6L travveling at 100km/h on Eastlink yesterday, bumper to bumper saw that figure rise to about 9.3L

Also my brother just found the way to enable the vtec light on his CTR images/smilies/tongue.gif (so now we know exactly when vtec has kicked in 'yo)

Yeah, he stated the reason.

But that's not so unusual actually. I average about 11 L/100km but if I reset the computer thingy and drive up a hill or in stop and go traffic, it'll go up by about 6-8 litres or so.

That's for a V6... what kind of engine do you have in the Accord HH?
