My mother's Ford Fiesta rusted in every corner so I bought my first own car in September 2006...
Audi 80 B4 2.0, 90 BHP, nice as first car (rust: no way - fully zinced as every Audi at that time 8) ) so I expected to own it for about 3-4 years. ![]() 5th of January 2007 - I was on my way home from work, suddenly I saw two lights skidding on the opposite side of the road coming out of a corner and had merely half a second to react so there was no chance in avoiding the accident... ![]() I drove about 60 km/h (about 40 mph), the opponent about 80 km/h (about 50 mph) so we had "a slight bump" (quote Richard Hammond when he crashed the Porsche Cayenne S)... That was the opponent (VW Lupo)... I wasn't injured at all (besides a black and blue mark caused by the belt), the driver in the Lupo broke her breastbone, also caused by the belt. I don't want to imagine what would have happened if I drove the Fiesta I still drove 3 months before... So, after 1 1/2 week of driving a Peugeot 207 (horrible car when you drove an Audi 80 - smaller but same weight, 600 cc less engine displacement so absolutely no power at low revs ) I bought my second own car, an Audi 80 again, but better equipped: 2.0E, 115 BHP, fog-lamps, alloy rims, stowable backseats (the first had fixed ones), better soundsystem, revcounter where the first had the big analogue clock.![]() If the series of the last 10 years goes on I won't have an accident with that car (and I won't be allowed to buy a new car because that will be crashed...): - VW Golf III (my father's car): crashed by a lorry - Opel Corsa A (my mum's car): fell apart itself so the last home of it was the scrapyard - Opel Corsa B (my mum's car): crashed by a Ford Transit - Ford Fiesta (my mum's car): like the Corsa A ![]() - Audi 80 (first own car): crashed by a VW Lupo - Audi 80 (second own car): drives like a charm, at least I own it longer than my first car (3 months vs. 4 months now)

I ask Herb Helbig, vehicle synthesis manager for SRT and a member of the original Team Viper development group since day one, if they'd ever thought of adding traction control. Ouch - nasty. The silver A4 looks nice though - just avoid crazy Lupo drivers...

Well, it was a nice car but besides the red tape which was caused by the accident I'm not mad about that - the new car is better equipped, was cheaper than what I got from the insurance company and has less fuel consumption (8.3 opposed to 8.7 litres/100 km respectively 34 opposed to 32.5 mpg).
Quote:
P.S.: the silver one is an Audi 80, too, but the first A4 looks almost the same because it's based on the Audi 80 (That's why the last Audi 80's code name is B4 and the first Audi A4's code name is B5 ).Quote:
