Looks pretty nice, I really like the colour too. Is that a leather interior? And also, are those wheels stock? They look pretty nice on it.

Lookin' good, I was a big fan of the 300 and Concorde when they came out about 10 years ago.

ANd with the model you have, they didn't try to give you the 2.7 v6 as a 'budget' feature.

Why did Chrysler mount the engine that way for a FWD setup? Kind of odd.

Because that chassis was designed to have a short hood relative to overall length. It was the "cab-forward" design, which I thought was excellent - it resulted in a car that was literally cavernous inside, but you couldn't mount a wide engine transversely in it.

In addition, the chassis was designed to have an AWD option. While Chrysler never made an LH car with AWD, the minivans that were based off the LH *did* have an AWD option.

Finally, unlike a lot of cars that are FWD with larger V6s, Chrysler mounted it longitudinally to make cooling it easier. The LHs were a brilliant design, well executed, and if you avoided the base engines, the only thing wrong with them was which end was propelling them.

Nice car images/smilies/smile.gif

Yea, it's all leather interior and the wheels are stock. I'm loving my car to bits. The guy I bought it from said that every option that was offered was taken. Quite a roomy environment, with loads of room in the front, back, and boot.

And thanks for all the good replies guys images/smilies/smile.gif

Nice! I've always had a soft spot for the 300M, I'm surprised how nice the interior is, seeing modern Chryslers...

I always liked those. They are pretty rare here, but you see some every now and then. It's a car with a strong presence, me thinks...

Nice! Yet another LH fan here, though I'm more partial to the '98-01 Concorde myself, but that 300M is pretty sweet in its own right.

Those cars are nearly indestructible. My friend had one and he beat the absolute hell out of it every single day. 6000 miles on oil changes, driving it off road (through fields, and up hills you'd think only a 4x4 truck should attempt) and he even fell asleep driving on the highway and smashed into a guard rail. The car kept going just as strong.

I've always had a soft spot for the Chrysler cab forward design cars. My uncle who recently passed away had a Plymouth Breeze. The interior felt a bit hard, but it was built realitively well and it looks a million times more attractive than any modern chrysler interior. Gosh I would love to have one of those cars. Talk about nostalgia... The only other company that I can think of that has the longitude mounted engine and FWD is Audi. I suppose by mounting the engine longitudinal, you acieve better balance balance.

This was also tuned on the Nordschleife, the suspension was much improved reducing the amount of body roll. My parents had a 2004 Intrepid a few years back, loved that 3.5L it was my first car as well.

My brothers uncle had one of those a few years back, I have to admit it seemed like a genuinely nice car. It was comfortable (the man has a horrible back problem and can drive in it for hours on end with no problems), the design inside and out was nice.

It's one car that after seeing raised my thoughts on Chrysler, but my recent visit to the autoshow fixed that images/smilies/lol.gif

Too add to what Spectre said, the French designed the Eagle Premier which is an older version of the chassis (or distant relative, something like that). Anyway one thing they noticed is that longitudinally mounted engines transmitted less noticeable vibration to the passengers.

Yeah, Chrysler was on the right track with those cars... then Daimler flexed their muscles and ruined them.

I don't know what the Germans were thinking, but they ruined that company. The diesels and the LX platform were the only good things Chrysler got out of that pairing.

You know, I didn't know that Renault had figured that out. It makes sense, though. Also explains why for a FWD car, the LH cars didn't chew up motor mounts when they got older.

LX platform existed long before the germans took over.. the only thing the germans did was ruin the interior, and charge chrysler full price for the transmission and e-class suspension geometry.

also.. the LH was based on the AMC Premiere, which was a renault.. the pre-production concept cars actually ran 318v8's mated to a ZF tranmission (same as audi 5000, except with a real motor) and was engineered to be able to be offered in AWD.
