Some more pics. Some of these didn't exactly turn out as we'd hoped images/smilies/tongue.gif

I can't fathom why I seem to be the only one who actually likes compacts. A 318ti would be great, and I'd happily go for even a 316i compact. Though I should probably just trade in my 323 for a 323... images/smilies/tongue.gif
I like the truncated looks, and would get one especially since the sedans, coupés and cabrios are such boy-racer territory that the only non-abused ones seem to be compacts and tourings...

I'm talking strictly E36 derivative here, though. The later model is hideous.

*Hate*

I would so adore an old BMW as a first car, but unlike you, we actually have to worry about insurance. And a 2.5l? Jeez that would cost at least £10000 to insure for a 17 year old here.

Very nice first car!

'Trespassers will be cute...' images/smilies/lol.gif Excellent photos you took there.

And you were definitely not that late in getting your Ps...I didn't get mine until I was nearly 20. I'm still on them for another 11 months! Argh.

Nice pictures, pity you didnt take that stupid looking P-plate off before you took them. Fortunately in SA we have a better solution of sticking them in the windows which is much neater than shoving a piece of plastic behind your rego. Lovely car although you certainly have to pay for them. Insurance, service costs, replacement parts etc are not cheap for those cars...but heck it'd be worth it images/smilies/biggrin.gif

@NooDle, I would gladly swap if it were at all possible...images/smilies/tongue.gif

I'm counting down the months...

Disaster!

The car shat itself today.
It started by the engine bogging down, and the revs going way down so that the engine almost cut out.
Later the engine was bogging down and then surging INSANELY every couple of seconds. At a set of lights next to some wogs. Next to a police station.
Then the engine completely cut out and I lost power steering etc.
Got it to start up again but it was idling really rough, and slightly surging every now and then, eventually it stopped starting all together for a brief period.
Now it's sitting at the mechanic's.
What could be causing this??

And thanks for the compliments guys, just a shame it broke! images/smilies/biggrin.gif
